My wife and I are staying in stateroom 5509 for our August 28th western...Anybody got any comments about this room??? Quiet????Size??? Bunk beds?? Our kids are 9 and 6...Thanks!!!!!!:bounce:

On our first cruise, my sister stayed in 5009, the exact room on the opposite side of the ship. We were on 1 side of her and my parents on the other. We really liked being up that hallway as there isnt much traffic. Deck 5 is great because nothing is too far to go up or down to, you are right in the middle.
As for the beds, the couch will turn into one for 1 kid, and another bed will come down from the ceiling. We liked the set up of those sideways cat 11's.

Sounds Good!! I wonder if anyone has a picture of the room??...My kids would love to see it....(so would I!!!):Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

Hi,
I always stayed in the staterooms in that area. It is GREAT!!! Low traffic, very quiet AND since you have kids, it just right down the hall from the Kid's club which is very convenient to drop off and pick up!!

I know there was a picture of that particular room which i have seen (sideway, cat 11) somewhere on the disboard but i can't remember where it was, perhaps someone else will know...

Have fun!!:earsboy:

Sorry I don't have a picture but we really loved the sideways Cat 11 we had on our May 1 cruise. Seems bigger somehow and you have a steamer trunk which the regular 11s don't have.

If you can't find a picture, pm me and I'll do a sketch of the layout.

DW and I just returned from our first Disney cruise on the May 22 Western. We had 5500 just a few doors down from you. We loved the location. I was worried about being too far forward but it wasn't a problem with movement or wasn't too far to walk to anything we wanted to do.

The only complaint we had was the noise level from the Walt Disney Theatre just below. It is mostly just noisy during the two nightly shows which in theory, you should be eating during one and watching the other.

They did have one or two afternoon shows that could clearly be heard from the room but usually you will be busy out having fun at that time anyway.

Overall, we loved the room and would gladly stay there again if we could!

Have fun!

We were in cabin 5508. It was a really nice area. Right down the hall fromt he kids clubs. The bunk beds were a hit. We also have two boys. They HAD to take turns sleeping on top. They loved the towel animals and turn downs each night. The only bad part about that area of the ship is the Walt Disney theater. We heard some noise from a show one afternoon, and the family next door heard an evening show (very, very well we were told), while they were trying to have an early night. We had early dinner seating, and went to the late shows each night, so we didn't have this problem. it is also very close to the stairs and elevators!

We were in room 5000 cat 8. Loved the location near the kids clubs and booked to be on 5 on our next cruise (not in the same room though) that being said our particular room was quite noisy in the evenings during show times at the Dis theatre. Mostly queit otherwise. We were at the end of the hall and there was a very busy crew door right next to our room so we heard the door slam at all hours of the night and day.

We were in our rooms early almost every night because of our 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 yo dds on the cruise with us so the evening shows and 7 am rehersals were a problem for us. The mid afternoon shows were also during nap time but our kids were use to it by the 5th day. We complained to GS because the base was so loud that it made the lights in the room and floor vibrate. It seems it just doesn't need to be that loud that we could make out every word to every song. So maybe I didn't make it to all the shows but I joked with the rest of our family on our cruise that I heard every performance from our room!

I never noticed the noise below all that time we stayed in the various cabins in that area. . I guess it is because we had the early dining seating and then went right to the show afterwards.

I think the noise was so bad because we were as far forward as you can be and we were right over the speakers is what guest services told us. We also had early seating for dinner and then I went back to the room with the kids so we heard the evening show and practices in the am. People down the hall from us said they did not notice the noise but were probably not in the room at that time. When we rebooked on the deck 5 we booked a SPH down the hall on the other side to avoid all the crew traffic from the crew door and hopefully because we are further down the hall it will be less noisy. On our next cruise our children will be older so hopefully we will not be in our room but at the show.
