I think the cabanas would be good for larger families where not every one is going to be in the pool all day. Or for parents who's kids are old enough to play on thier own. I'd suggest staking out a spot by walkaway waters, which is the giant kid area. To the back of it is the toddler section and if you ride the Rao River around, you'll be right there at the wave pools. And there's plenty of food places close by and showers/bathroom right there.
That's where we stake out a spot and I've never really had a problem finding a few chairs there. But you don't have to take up four chairs... two lounges should be enough for you to sit on while eating or taking small breaks for more sun screen. And there are tons of umbrellas for shade. And usually you can get shade from the two family slides that run above as well. I don't find the cabanas to be in areas that I want to be near.
