cabanas at aquatica

has anyone rented a cabana do you think it is worth it
we have 2 adults 2 kids 2 & 9 we will be there june 23
any opinions would be great

I'm a local and everytime I tried to get one last year

Doesn't seem to matter when you reserve. Tried to reserve when we first made our reservation and were told we had to wait till a certain date to reserve. Called early on that date and was told all were reserved by "Special Groups". Of course this was when final payment was due so had to pay then and of course can't get a refund now.
Called again a few days later and recieved three confused answers from three different representatives. I don't think they know what they are doing with the Cabanas unless they are held in reserve for VIPs until the last minute since I was told to wait until 5 days before and call again, and no there is no waiting list.
Have been to DC 3 times in the past and loved it so much I am taking a group of my family members to the experience.
Given the way we have been treated concerning the Cabanas this will probably be our last visit.
Good luck to anyone trying to get one.

r you mixing Discovery Cove experience with an Aquatica question?

I think the cabanas would be good for larger families where not every one is going to be in the pool all day. Or for parents who's kids are old enough to play on thier own. I'd suggest staking out a spot by walkaway waters, which is the giant kid area. To the back of it is the toddler section and if you ride the Rao River around, you'll be right there at the wave pools. And there's plenty of food places close by and showers/bathroom right there.

That's where we stake out a spot and I've never really had a problem finding a few chairs there. But you don't have to take up four chairs... two lounges should be enough for you to sit on while eating or taking small breaks for more sun screen. And there are tons of umbrellas for shade. And usually you can get shade from the two family slides that run above as well. I don't find the cabanas to be in areas that I want to be near.
