I need to know the pros and cons of each if you please.. The details are cabana is $200 cheaper, hubby says he doesn't care about view. We are probably going to alternate 1 day at parks with 1 day at hotel swiming and just hanging out relaxing. (7 days total).

What does each mean? Is it just a view? and is it right by the pool for the other?

Thanks everyone!

Are you talking about the PP rooms that have the little patio, on the pool/parking lot side of the building?

We had one of those rooms once. You could just walk right out and be at the pool; but you couldn't lock the door behind you; someone would have to stay on the patio or in your room to secure your stuff. The rooms had a sliding door; and there was a table with four chairs outside; and you were right out by the pool, but not exactly poolside; you had to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the pool.

IMO I'd rather have a view of the park . . . but for the next year there's going to be construction, not just of CA but also the new DVC wing of the Grand Californian. Until the construction is finished, I'd save the money.

How long is construction going on? Sounds like a good plan to keep the cabana then? Thanks for the reply. I was really wondering g from someone who has been there

Was it more convenient to the lounge in this location as well?

I stayed at the PP room (for Concierge) on the top (or second to top) floor with the DCA view. Very nice, but once you've seen it, you've seen it. I also admired those Cabana rooms when the kiddo was at the pool.

Even if the price was the same, I'd prefer the Cabana room. (& if you get an urge to see DCA at night from the top floor....ride the elevator up to the top & you'll see it.

Regarding "Alternating" days at the park & the pool.....I HIGHLY recommend getting a 7 (or 8) day hopper & enjoying the early morning &/or evening at DLR even on days that you swim (which could be every day).

The 7/8 day hopper (thru Getwaway for example) is just a few dollars more than a 4-5 day.

If it was me:

- At DL at MM (you get it everyday it's offered) or Gen. Adm. opening every day. Pick up FPs & tour for 2-3 hours.
- Hop to DCA for 2-3 hours (& pick up FPs if needed).
- A long mid day rest/nap/swim each day.
- Back to DL (or DCA) in the evening with the FPs picked up that morning.
- Rinse & Repeat every day.

Have a great time at Walt's park. :thumbsup2

Hmm one vote for cabana, one vote for view.. However I have to think about price since this is a cheap trip for us. We'd love to have more days than 3 or 4 but the military ticket is for 3 days. Still working on adding a 4 th day, but thats why the pool days we are just trying to make this work for cheap.
