We have an upcoming cruise and I sent in my request for a cabana at midnight at the 125 day mark like I always do. I requested a cabana between the numbers 2-10 as we prefer to be on that section of beach. When I got my cabana assignment at the 120 mark, we received cabana 15. When i called to question the onshore concierge why my number was so high she said that they had recieved 10 emails prior to mine (she said they got mine at 12:01 am) and the others all also requested low numbered cabanas with some cabins requesting multiple cabanas.

First time this has happened to me. Anyone else heard of such a thing?

I'm not surprised. There are a limited number of cabanas, and more concierge bookings than there are cabanas. It's basically just luck whose request gets granted first, especially if everyone emails at 12:01 at 125 days out.

It happened to me two weeks ago. I sent my email at 12:02 (I was on another cruise and the email was slow to leave due to the speed of the connection) and didn’t get a cabana at all on the Family beach. We are waitlisted...

Wow. We have our first DCL Cruise next May and now I’m worried we won’t get a cabana.

Are you concierge?

If not, it can happen...but it is not likely. You might have a shot at a Serenity Bay one (adult only) if you are on a Classic. But still no guarantees.

It's almost impossible to get a cabana as a first time cruiser unless you're concierge. They definitely won't be available when you go to book. Maybe if you stalk the site you might get lucky. And some people sign up for the wait list on the ship and get one.

I did win $4 off megaball a few weeks ago.

We’re concierge on Dream but I know it has a lot more concierge rooms than the classic ships. I’ve been dreaming of cabana since the day I booked the cruise.

With the low amount of inventory, I was surprised that they let people book more than one cabana at a time.

I would agree with that. It surprises me that they let people book more than one.

What cruise are you on?

I'm a first time cruiser (concierge) on a mid-March Dream sailing and sent my email right at 12:01am - and was lucky enough (apparently!) to get my top selection.

Sorry to hear you didn't get your top choice, although really glad you got one! Really surprised to hear they allow multiple bookings.

It wouldn't surprise me if they eventually go to a tiered request process within concierge based on Category - R, S, T and V.

We are on the 3/18 Dream sailing

So can I send the request email at midnight or do I have to wait until 12:01 AM to send my email? Thanks.

I sent mine at midnight and they said they received it at 12:01

I just posted a new thread where I shared that I was able to get a cabana on the day of our Castaway Cay day. We were sailing 1st time concierge, but someone else said they were able to get one on the day of and they weren't concierge - there's hope!

Make sure your clock turns to midnight before hitting send, I've heard if it is received at 11:59 they won't count it. I waited a couple seconds past 12am to hit send and got everything I requested.
