I called to make a reservation for a Cabana at the RPR for April and I was told by Concierge it is $200 a day and it's a whole day only, no half days allowed.
Does this sound a bit crazy? I thought the rate was $100 a day?

Wow,never done it.Seems alittle pricey tho.
I know the staff wate on you like your royality. They have TV's I do believe discounts on drinks and food.Maybe its the time of year-spring break-the prices are high!!:confused3
Maybe someone that has done it can shed some light on it..I'm curiose also..

Wow that does seem expensive but I ever use the pool cause I don't want to blind people with my white legs :lmao: :lmao:

That's more than my room in May.

But it sounds like they jacked the price up. It wasn't that much last year.

Last year I believe it was $100 a day and I thought that was high :scared:

I would call back and ask again, maybe the person you talked to was new or perhaps the RPR is trying to make up for all the free nights they have given out lol.

Cabanas are never rented for half days at the 3 hotels.

i hate to see prices go up like that but maybe it was necessary with the discounted room specials they are having this year.

those discounts on the rooms stop on the 8th of october.

wonder if the cabana rates will drop at that point?

i will be spending a majority of my time at the parks and at hhn on the next trip. but, i am curious if the cabana rate will fall during regular season rates.

Does anyone have recent experience with cabana rental at RPR? I just called to reserve one and indeed it is $200 per day with no half-day rentals offered. We are staying in Club Level so our discounted price is $159.75 with tax. This includes the amenities mentioned in this thread and I was told we would have the cabana from 9am to 11pm. They only take your name and phone number, no credit card required and no cancellation penalty although they do request that you cancel by 8pm the previous day.

I figure we'll look at the cabanas when we arrive on June 22nd and since we reserved it for saturday, June 25th we could always cancel if we aren't impressed or if the weather is supposed to be bad. But I'm wondering if anyone has recent experience and whether they felt it was worth the cost.

By the way, the Universal Orlando 2011 guide book by Seth Kubersky and Kelly Monaghan say the cabanas are $75 for the day and $45 for half-day, and that Club Level guests can reserve the full day for $45 so obviously their info is totally wrong.

It's been around $180 at HRH for a few years now. Guess RPR is catching up.:confused3

pete w..sounds like I booked your cabana res. sounds like my spiel. i work the RPR gym. and you have all the correct info!!!!

to everyone else and OP: the RPR cabanas have been the same price for awhile. It varies depending on the time of year. Summer is *always* 150 club, 200 regular. there are NO half day rentals!!! HOWEVER!!! if you go in late in the day (after 4 or 5 pm) it is *possible* to get it for a lower rate. It ALL depends on who is working that day though!!!!! So do not quote me on this! it's not our policy but we have done it in the past.

Wow, that's the first time I was 'called out' by a resort employee -- I'll have to be more careful about what I say!

Seriously, you were very pleasant and helpful, however I was going into the call thinking the all-day cabana rental would be $45 so I gasped a bit when you told me $150, but I'm rationalizing it since we're Disneyphiles on our first visit to Universal and unlike another thread I've been following, we're doing our due diligence and planning ahead so I know we'll have a great time.

We have never had a need for a cabana. We get to the pool in the middle of the morning and they will help setup some chairs and umbrellas. We stay there almost all day with no issues. Granted its not your own private cabana, but you still get service all around the pool area. We order drinks, lunch, swim, and relax.:thumbsup2

I have to agree.. never had any need for a cabana at RPR. We usually get there in the afternoon and there have always been plenty of chairs. There are plenty of wait staff and never had a problem with an order. Now I've never gone Easter week or during the summer, but was there last Columbus Day weekend and there just wasn't any need for it.

We have cabanas booked for Oct 12th and Oct 16th at the HRH, and the themed cabanas are $230 reg price and $190 with the Club room discount. So NO, the prices aren't going to go down.:headache:

ETA, they did ask for our hotel confirmation number and sent me a email with the cabana reservation info. They also attatched a catering menu with prices.

just want to point out that the post i made which you quoted, was OVER 2 years ago.

someone revived an old thread so what you first read has been outdated for some time.

prices never stay the same.
especially from over two years ago....

I just rented a cabana at the HRH last weekend and it was $200 for the full day from 9AM - midnight. This was cabana # 10 which was one of the themed ones so the normal ones may be less. I normally dont rent one but we had DD's sweet 16 at the HRH so we got one for her and her friends to enjoy. As far as service... in the morning it was good... but in the afternoon as the pool got busy.. the service was poor. We had to wait so long for drinks and even for our bill when we had her close out our tab for the afternoon.

It did come with 12 sodas, 4 16 oz bottles of waters, a bowl of fruit and a big bottle of FIJI water and chilled towels.

Did this change? When I have called in the past to reserve a cabana at PBH, one time I was quoted a price for a full day and half day. Also, last year we arrived at the pool at about 2 PM and asked if any cabanas were available (Beach Pool). One was and we were pleasantly suprised when they told us we would only be charged the half day rate since it was 2 PM. I forget the exact price but I think it was just under $100. We would have had a club level discount. I forget exactly which trip it was last year but it was either in March, July, or October. Maybe it depends on the time of year.

The price and half day rental rates vary between the three properties. As far as I know, PBH has the cheapest cabanas because they have so many of them. at RPR, we have to charge a lot because we only have 5 (used to be only 3 until this past year) and they book up REALLY fast!!!!The time of year that you book also makes a huge difference. at RPR the price goes up to 200 starting in March and lasts until Labor Day. The cheapest time is in like dec-jan because of the weather and they hardly ever get booked. Also with the half day rentals it depends on the property, and what their policy is. I've given out half day cabana rentals if its after 4pm for like 125$ but I can't go much lower without management consent.
