I was just on DCL blog and saw where Scott posted an increase on the CC cabanas.

Yup, went and checked mine for February on family beach is now $590.18.
Serenity Bay is $428.

I guess since I haven't paid for it yet I am stuck paying the increase.
I will not cancel because we love the cabana's and are sailing with our grandkids this go around and really want the cabana for the day.
Plus I love the quieter private beach area.

I am sure that Disney will still have no issue renting them all out.
They also have them listed in number order now, with the new numbers for the ones on Serenity Bay too.
The newly built ones are not yet offered online.

wow- that's a bummer! I think they started at $499 and just kept going up from there. I wonder what the breaking point will be? It will be interesting to see just how high they'll go!

We have one booked at SB in Feb. I just called Concierge and they have not heard about the increase. I'm expecting an update. Hopefully the old price will be grandfathered since we booked before the increase..

Isn't it funny how they haven't heard about the increase, yet the new price is on the port adventure page?
We are not sailing concierge so can you let me know what they tell you about the price changing after you booked please?

Thanks.
Lori

We just paid 549 this past weekend for cabana 12 on the family beach. It's high but we agreed we probably wouldn't have spent the whole day on the island or enjoyed the day so thoroughly if we had not had it. Even my fairly frugal husband felt he would do it again. I do think they are overpriced but then again we are willing to pay and the wait lists are long. I'm guessing they are going to keep raising the cost until almost everyone on board isn't lining up for them.

Well, I guess they have to make-up somewhere for the huge increase in fuel costs they've experienced lately. :rotfl2:

We are double dipping at CC next July to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. We would like to get a cabana as my parents cant tolerate too much sun. How far in advance can you reserve them?

You book cabanas as you do excursions - when your excursion booking window opens, you can book cabanas.

Generally, unless you're sailing Concierge or are Platinum CC members, your chances of getting a cabana are fairly slim.

That likely depends on which ship. The larger ones you're probably correct. Just sailed on the Magic as Gold and booked a Serenity Bay cabana at the 105 day mark.

Too rich for my blood. I had booked one at SB for DD and I next month, when it was weirdly labeled and without a price. Assuming it would be $299, I felt lucky to have gotten it about 45 days out. A splurge, but I was rationalizing it.

Now the price is over $400. And, having sailed several January's before, I know that weather is hit or miss. And usually worse out at SB vs the FB. If it's a chilly, windy January, I'm spending $400+ to shelter in the cabana.

If it was summer, I'd keep it. But not worth the risk in January. I'd be pretty mad at myself if we didn't stay out there most of the day.

I think even on the classics it's fairly tough to get one on the family beach... Usually dumb luck if one opens up as you get closer

I have not been told of the price increase and we cruise in January and have one reserved. Interesting.

I don't think they TELL you of any price increase. It just happens and shows up on your onboard account.

Now, the last time they had a price increase, those people who had passed their PIF date and had cabanas booked when the increase was implemented were only charged what the price was on the day they made their reservation. But anyone who booked one after the price increase paid the higher price.

Not saying that this will happen this time, but it did in the past.

We booked Serenity Bay #25 for our upcoming Fantasy cruise (just a couple hours ago) and the total was $428.93.

Well I hope the prices don't go up anymore before my 120 day mark. It's outrageously expensive but I still will get one for my November 2015 cruise.

I'm really hoping they honor that for us again as we leave Sunday on the Wonder. Today was our last day for any bookings, so I looked after I read this and the prices had been changed.

Was this for your January cruise? Also did you have to call or was it online? I've been hoping the extra cabanas would come up for our late January cruise as right now it goes to Family Beach 17 (no 16 for some reason) and then skips to Serenity beach 22-24.

Ugh never mind just checked and sometime between my last check 3 hours ago and not Serenity 25 went up and is already taken :( Well looks like we will go on the waitlist and hope others decide it is too expense for them.
