Received email notification they're good to go for reservations. Just for giggles priced out opening day: courtyard family suite $244+, $254+ for pool view @ rack/seasonal rate.

Since the rooms sleep 6 figure they'll be popular with young adults, over 2 adults is $10+ per person/per day upcharge.

We enjoy the FOTL perc, but it'll likely be a viable option for many, especially groups of young adults imo.

i played around with that site also.
in May, the suites drop to $150.xx a night.

the standard rooms open later.
i tried some september dates and got $89 a night.
put in october dates and it was $101.

still not tempted.

but if disney keeps raising their room rates, it's a possible consideration for me to drop the one week motherland stay for one week at cabana then switch to rph

I still wouldn't be tempted. We've decided we are tired of Disney resort prices, so our last two stays have been offsite. The next three will also be offsite (in Sept, Dec, and May) For my upcoming Sept solo trip I am paying $74.00 a night for a one bedroom at Bonnet Creek and then for our Dec trip we are paying just $60.00 per night for a one bedroom there. That's alot more space at a Deluxe resort inside the WDW gates, cheaper than a value at WDW or Cabana Bay at Universal. I still love WDW, just not their outrageous room prices. With Bonnet Creek I can still stay inside the WDW gates, stay at a Deluxe resort, and have alot more space with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, jacuzzi tub and two lazy rivers. I'd miss those at Cabana Bay. I'd still rather do a split stay with a week at Bonnet Creek for my Disney fix, then a night or two over at RPR for my Universal fix. Without express pass, Cabana Bay has absolutely no draw for me, even at value pricing.

Do you rent a car for while you're at Bonnet Creek? We're considering staying there next fall. We've got timeshare that we can trade and if we can't get what we want at DVC, Bonnet Creek would be our next option. There will be 9 of us, though, so transportation is a big issue.

Yes. We just prefer having our own car. However, Bonnet Creek does have a shuttle. It costs $6.00 per day for the WDW parks and DTD. They also have a number you can call to reserve a shuttle to Universal or Sea World.

$6.00/day for 9 people gets a little crazy for a week!!!

I agree with you all, as neat as Cabana Cay looks it's location and lack of Express Pass will keep me from booking it. You can stay at the Doubletree or whatever the heck it is across the road for what Universal is offering you here. If they would just throw in Express Pass I'd probably try it but I admit I'm bummed that even though they sleep six they're charging you for extra adults over two. As a parent of an 18 year old, that sucks. I had considered taking my two girls (16 & 18) and some of their friends down and booking there then all this lack of amenities came up and un uh, I'll just wait for a good deep discount and book two rooms at RPR.

They seem to have done what the WDW value hotels do and added $10 per extra adult instead of the $25 like at the deluxe hotels. Still more expensive than staying at the close offsite hotels but at least you'd get early admission.

Most renters of BC I've seen on redweek want to book an entire week vs a few days

damo i'm curious are u thru RCI? do they have a week minimum requirement to trade into DVC?

Yup, I'm through RCI. I've only traded for a week. We traded into BWV last time and it worked really well. I've only seen shorter stays for cash and not trade. We actually didn't stay the entire week but headed over to Universal after day 5.

thanks, I've yet to try booking anything thru RCI as a trade since i'm not keen on 'paying' for a whole week and not using it;)since we usually do a split stay too.

We figured we had already gotten our money's worth by the end of day 5 and couldn't bear only to spend 1 day at Universal. Also, back then, points were considerably lower to trade into DVC. I think it was about 10 less than it is now.
