Last night at the stroke of 11:01 (central) I booked Cabana #18.

My choices were 18-21 (truly slim "pickins" at the stroke of midnight, huh?). Being that it's our wedding day on Castaway we decided that we needed a cabana!!

Does anyone have any closer up, recent pictures of #18 or the surrounding cabanas with #18 in it? Thank you very much in advance!

Hope you don't mind me asking - are you Platinum or perhaps Concierge? The fact you had several choices is an awesome thing :). I don't have any specific advise on #18 but congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Heather

We stayed in cabana 18 in May this year and found it to be just like the other cabanas with the following exceptions:

1. the landscaping was not planted or mature around these last few cabanas, so it is not as private as 1-17
2. it is on the "lagoon" and not the main beach area which is quiet and private but if you want to be in the larger main swim/snorkel area, then you have to walk down the beach a little ways.
3. some complained of jelly fish in this lagoon area but we only saw one or two and nobody in our group was stung.
4. many dont like the walk to cookies or the restrooms from this end but they had a golf cart stationed right by cabana 18 to run people to those spots as needed.
5. The water was very warm.

Have fun in your cabana.

Thank you! And actually, Heather, I'm silver. But because I booked a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding on DCL they afforded us the opportunity to start our activity booking and online check in at 120 days!! I was surprised to see cabanas 1-17 gone already, but hey- I'll take 18!!

This is the best I have. #18 is the one on the far right, and this was taken about 10 months ago.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the visual.

Thanks! I feel that with it being further down and away it will be more private and quiet- and that's perfectly fine with us! We don't mind walking, nor being secluded temporarily. I'll be on the lookout for jellyfish!!

We had Cabana 21 and yes there were jellyfish -- green, mossy-looking things-- and someone in our party did get stung. They recommended putting on an anti-jellyfish lotion beforehand (I can't remember the name). Other than that it was great.

When we renewed our vows in 2012 on The Magic, we were basically given "Concierge" benefits even though we were in category 5B and silver CC members at the time. So you get those "extra" benefits during the cruise. We had robes in the room and snacks brought and left in our room daily. We were treated so special the entire week.
I didn't know we were allowed to ask in advance for the cabana thru Disney, so I was checking like crazy daily for one. Luckily about a month or 2 before the cruise, someone cancelled and I was able to snag one.

Green mossy jellyfish?? Well that... SUCKS!!! Do they provide the anti jellyfish lotion? Never heard of that before..

That's us, that's us too!! Category 5B and Silver CC!! I'm so excited that you posted this! I didn't know there were robes or snacks or anything!! Yay!! Thank you for sharing with me/us!
When I booked the cruise with DFTW they told me right off of the bat that I would be able to book with concierge/gold at 120 days. I called about a week ago to confirm- as I didn't want to be sitting up all night waiting for the stroke of midnight (EST) when I had to be at work bright and early this morning... lol...

Again, thank you ALL for sharing! I'm so excited!

You're so welcome!!!!
Have a wonderful time and Congratulations!!!!!
Enjoy every moment!!!
