Highly recommend a taxi from WL to DTD. We always have a car at the WL, but make it a game that we never get in it once we park it( and we usually stay 10 days). We love the busses and boats but have found that it is well worth the $ for a taxi either to or from DTD. I have found it to be the slowest of bus routes. I am not sure it still does, but it used to go through Fort Wilderness and it just seemed to take a long time. We find it especially worth it at night when we are going home and everyone is too cranky to wait on a bus. I think it is less than a ten minute ride in a cab. We often take taxis at the end of the night at Epcot back to WL. We watch Illuminations, walk over to the Beach Club or Boardwalk and catch a cab. We are a very active family but at the end of a long day at Epcot with 2 little ones, a cab is a nice unstressful return to the hotel. $12.00 usually from Boardwalk to WL.
