CAA does not have pricing on their website. Has anyone done a price comparison lately.

My SIL says that she was quoted $200 less than the Disney site and in Canadian $$. This does not seem correct to me.

Thanks

Dawn

I know when I called for a quote from CAA they came in around $200 cheaper than Disney. That was for next Feb. so no deals from Disney have come out yet for that time. It could be that a better deal will be offered by Disney in the next couple of months.

You cannot book CAA/AAA (or almost any discount code) on Disney's web site. So, it very probable the CAA agent was able to quote a rate lower than Disney's website. However, if your SIL called Disney, and asks for a CAA/AAA discount, she will be quoted the same rate as what CAA quoted.

Note: Disney will always quote their prices in US Dollars.

Good to know,

is the CAA rate through Disney room only, or does it apply to MYW packages?

One thing to be aware of .... disney often includes any tax in their quotes. Others often give you a quote, but add the tax on afterwards. So just make sure you're comparing apples to apples......:)

is the CAA rate through Disney room only, or does it apply to MYW packages?

When I booked my trip for this year, I orginally booked CAA rates through Disney for the room only. I then decided to add the Dining Option, which means you have to do a package. I found out that I had to cancel my reservation with Disney, and make a new reservation through CAA.

So, short answer: CAA rate through Disney is Room only.

I found a wonderful CAA agent on these boards that knows her stuff. I am very pleased with her. She stays up to date with everything Disney, and also goes several times a year herself, so she knows what she is doing and speaks based on experience. When the last public code was released she was on her way to her wedding at Disney, and that morning (while on holidays) she still called WDW reservations attempting to get the code for her clients. So not only did I get the CAA discount on my package, but my agent was always looking to see if she could get me a better price. Even with all the information that I have learned on these boards, I still will book with her in the future.

I also contacted my local branch of CAA and found that their Disney Specialist wasn't so special. So look around and find someone you like and think you can trust to do a good job for you.

I was wondering about the tax thing myself. We have booked both through a TA and through Disney and I have prefered Disney because a) there is no middle man and b) if I want to add a request, make a change etc. I can just call them directly.

Also I have found that when the dollar is good and boy is it good right now, it has been cheaper to may online in US funds then to go with Canadian TA prices in books printed months ago.

Hey all,

I'm a CAA Disney Specialist, and I'd be happy to answer any questions.

CAA does get a bunch of packages available to its agents that are discounted from the package rates on the Disney World website. There are also some room only rates available.

Also, CAA never goes by the printed price. But, rule of thumb, since we only get so many rooms and packages available to us... always inquire about your rates early!!!!

I called the 1-800 number on the back of my CAA card and got a travel agent out of Toronto. She was fabulous! She also told me I could book whatever I wanted (she was very knowledgeable) and had two weeks to make any changes I wanted without having to cancel anything - the reservation was guaranteed for those two weeks.

So can you get discounted MYW with DDDP through CAA??

Yes! Definitely! As long as it is available...

There are occasions where I have quoted packages for clients but it turns out they were the exact same price as through the Disney site. However, there are times where the client is floored by the great discount!!! It depends on what we have available... booking early is key :wizard:

Maybe it was me! Disney lets us hold bookings for 14 days (provided you are booking for more than 60 days out) without a deposit. It gives you time to shop around...

Disney offers a two week courtesy hold on any package (to anyone that calls them), as long as the start date of the reservation is more than 60 days out.

For room only reservations, the two week courtesy hold is available at any time.

Disney's website does not usually reflect discount offers (there have been some notable exceptions -- such as the free dining offer -- when you could book the discount code online). So, it's not surprising the website reports a higher price.

Normally, if a consumer wish to book a discounted rate, they must call CRO (for either a CAA/AAA rate, or "regular" discount code).
