CAA Discount

I tried to book a room only reservation for late Nov/early Dec of 2006 with the CAA Discount. I was told by the rep on the phone that if I had wanted to make reservations for that time with the CAA discount, I would have had to have booked between June and September. I told her, are you sure, I'm booking for 2006. She said yes, and got customer service on the phone to confirm this. I asked her about the AAA discount. She said the AAA discount is available all year round, but I'm not eligible for that as I'm a CAA member. I thought they were interchangeable? I thought where ever an AAA card is good for a hotel discount, a CAA card is also good. I told her that it didn't make any sense that to get a CAA discount, I have to book my vacation a year and a half in advance.

I was so upset by the end of the phone call that I told her to cancel my reservation. We thought we'd try a moderate this time as we thought it would be a 20% discount, but I may reconsider the value resorts now.

Has anyone else had any luck with a CAA discount?
 
The AAA/CAA (SAME discount) came out at the end of June/05 for all of 2006. There are limited rooms/dates available I believe. AS soon as the discounts came out, I booked a value for the first week of January 2006 with the 20% discount.
I called CRO direct and made a room only discount and had the 20% discount applied. If you are booking room only you can simply book through CRO (disney). If you want an AAA/CAA package, you have to use an AAA/CAA agent. I called back about a month ago to enquire about upgrading to a deluxe for our last night or two and there were still rooms available with a AAA/CAA discount.
I suggest:
If you want room only call CRO (1-800-828-0228) and give them your dates and ask about an AAA/CAA discount. I would be shocked if you couldn't get what you want with the discount. Dec 2006 is well over a year away!!!

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear, it was Disney that I was speaking to on the phone, that's why I didn't understand why they wouldn't honour my card. I thought she was just getting confused with something else, like a package deal or something, but then when customer service got on the phone as well, and told me the same thing, I felt like I was getting no where.

I've sent a letter off to disney, I'll see if that gets me anywhere.
 
Just call back and you will get another rep. I just booked my March room with the AAA/CAA discount 10 days ago. Just tell them you want the AAA rate.
 

I also recently booked through Disney with CAA for January and didn't have any problem. I am also reading along and wondering what the 800 number was. Does Disney have an 800# for Canadians. I always call 407-939-7639 to make ressies. Good Luck with yours. :wave:
 
The 1-800 # I listed above works from Ontario. I assume it will work from anywhere in Canada.

I agree with the other posters, simply call back and talk to someone else.
And make sure you state you want ROOM ONLY with the AAA /CAA discount.

The 1-800 works from here in Saskatchewan as well.

Good news, I called back and I was able to make a reservation with the discount! I told her AAA/CAA discount, just to make sure I didn't get a surprise when I arrived at the hotel and get hit with the full cost because I don't have AAA. I kind of cringed for a bit, because she said she had to get a code from the help desk. I was thinking, oh, no, here we go again. But she came back with a code, and everything was good :)

On top of it, we decided to go a little earlier as it's a little warmer in November, so we're getting married a month earlier now! Time to update my ticker, and almost time to book with Disney, I'm soooo excited!
