We're coming this week, along with half of Arizona. I just splurged on Maxpass and we're going to make the most of it! I'm still hoping mid-week isn't as bad as today though. The times on the app were awful.

You’ll love Max Pass! And ya, even though last year was crazy busy for us, we still had a blast. I just remember being surprised by the crowds because it was during the week and I didn’t know so many school had a fall break. Last year, the Halloween parties were Monday, Wednesday, Friday so DL was super busy on Tues/Thursday because anyone without park hoppers chose DL on the days it didn’t close early. This year it’s just Tuesday, right? Try to avoid DL during the day on Tuesday. Have fun!!

We live in the Bay Area, and my kids have today off from school. It is titled "Staff Work Day" though, not Columbus Day.

We are in AZ and my son is out of school today for "Fall Break Day". I work for the city and we do not get this day as a holiday.

Many AZ schools have this entire week off school for Fall Break.

We were there this past weekend (10/5-10/8) because the San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento scheduled a 3-day mini-Fall Break for the very first time. I think more districts are starting to offer these types of breaks.

West coast does have it off. at least up in norcal. DD is off today

We will be there next weekend (in the parks 20th-22nd) and we recently figured out that the entire state of Utah will be there as well. Should be fun!

You're smart to do so. I almost scratched Halloweentime off my list after last year but found it to be quite pleasant at the end of September this year. Between the already-popular Halloween season PLUS the new DCA Halloween stuff PLUS closing early for parties PLUS all these school breaks PLUS not many AP blocks...it's just a madhouse in October. At least they have 7am magic mornings.

We just decided on a last minute trip next week, my son's Fall Break is Friday 10/13 through 10/20 (Basis - Phoenix).

The first week of October is a dream. I will plan a Halloween trip every year over that first weekend.
The Halloween party was awesome, crowds not insane. The other days were level 2 and 3.

Yep- much of AZ (or at least greater Phoenix area public schools) are on Fall Break this week. I have 3 students (out of 23) going to DL this week. So.... my small sample indicates 13% of AZ families are in DL right now- Haha! I am sure it isn't that high... but it is a lot of people for sure!

On another note, I have studied Christopher Columbus over the past few days and come to the conclusion that he was an absolutely awful man that did unforgivable things and I have no idea why we have a holiday honoring him. Very glad many states are changing this holiday to something else. Research this topic at your own risk....you will be horrified.

Well ya. That's why people really need to start referring to it as Indigenous People's Day. Of course Christopher Columbus was an awful man.
