Staying a few days prior to our cruise at WDW and will have had a delivery from Garden Grocer. Plan on packing in our carry on four bottles of bubbly (2 for each adult as I believe that's the limit) and also will have bottles of water left from the case we are purchasing. Is there a limit as to how many we can bring in with the bubbly? Planning on just putting in the duffle bag that dh will carry. I know we won't finish the case of water we are ordering for our 3 days prior. Doesn't make sense to not take them since they will be good for port days and etc. Just don't want any surprises when we arrive at the terminal. DH usually purchases a bottle of bubbly to be waiting when we get to our stateroom but the idea of saving about $50 sounds good so this will be our first time bringing our own.

DH and I don't drink wine, but we always bring 2 6 packs on (one each). We pack it in a soft-sided cooler and pack that inside a carry-on side suitcase. We usually buy local beer at each of our ports and bring those on as well. Last cruise we ended up bringing more beer home than we brought on. (Cayman Island Brewery in Grand Cayman has great beers and we took a taxi there and did the brewery tour)

I have seen families carrying on a case of water - as long as it is part of your carry-on I don't think you will have an issue. Bring a cooler (soft) with you to put all the water and just carry it on and it will just go through security.

Thanks.. Good idea about the soft sided cooler.. we will use our Castaway one from a prior trip and then in a carry on. Last year we actually never drank the bottle of bubbly delivered to our room so we packed it in ice in that cooler and drank it on Serenity Bay! lol!

I have a logistical question along those lines as well. I was looking to carry all of the beer for 4 people. As long as we all are at the check in desk together am I ok to carry on a case?

Also, are you limited on the number of carry on bags? I also hope to wear a backpack along with the carry on with the beer?

As long as:-

All adults there.
It can get through X Ray security scanner.

No limits to carry on bags but as said must get through an airport style scanner and you must carry it until your stateroom opens circa 1.30pm.

This. They are not going to let you through with 24 beers if there are not 4 adults in your group (not random adults you grab to get through) going through security with you at once.

Yes, I know. I will be with my wife and parents, although my parents will be in another stateroom.

I think my statement came across as snarky. I am sorry if that was the case, it wasn’t my intention.

It’s ok.

I had specified it because since we also sometimes get questions about people checking in at different times, I could see someone trying to bring it on for the whole party when the whole party was not there. (And in some cases could also be “bringing everyone’s” along.)

They sell coolers on the ship - soft ones. And I have brought my 12 can cooler on the last 5 cruises with no issue.
If you look closer at the cooler description they do allow certain ones: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/prohibited-items/ice-chest-food-containers/
Yes, you may bring onboard small coolers for dietary needs (not drinks)
  • Coolers no larger than 12" x 12" x 12" [30.5cm x 30.5cm x 30.5cm], as carry-on luggage only for storing medications, baby food or items related to dietary restrictions only.

@PrincessShmoo i didn't mean to start an argument, yes your correct for medical etc... but my point was they are allowed.

And they sold lots.of them on the boat - the tote bag style. and they allowed people to take them on and off the boat.

I use a 12 can cooler and pack it inside my carryon. And I don't use it except to transport. No questions and no issues.

Oh gosh we can’t even bring back the coolers from Castaway Cay?

At first day embarkation they are vigilante about the coolers especially if you have things in them. If it is folded up and in your luggage they probably wouldn't bat an eye. (At least in Port Canaveral).

My story: We arrived at Port Canaveral with a previously purchased DCL cooler (the soft sided ones) to go through security. They had a pile of confiscated coolers of various makes and models. We had medication in ours and were allowed to pass once that was made known to the security checkers.

Once you are on your cruise, I see people using their coolers on and off the boat, particularly on Castaway Cay where they sell them as soon as you get off the gangway.
