Great news!! I just heard from Jaki at A Timeshare and heard that the ROFR was not exercised on my resale!!! I only had to wait 2 weeks as well!!!

Just to help those out who may be interested, here are the details:

150 points for BWV, April use year. 150 points banked from 02, all 150 from 03 and nothing borrowed from 04 - $73.00 per point. I paid $425 closing and paid full maintenance for 03 points.

Although this deal seems high, I am going to be renting out the 02 points, as well as some of the 03 points (I already have a renter on the 03). Assuming everything goes well, I should be able to bring my per point average down to around $64.00 per point (conservatively). We are not planning on going to WDW until April 04 so that's why I am renting out the points.

Thanks to everyone who contributes on this board!! I have never even been to any DVC resort, so I relied heavily on the opinions expressed here on how great DVC is (soon I will know for myself). If this board was not here, I don't think I would have made the leap to buy, so you all are great sales people, even if you don't realize it (DVC should give you all commissions)!!

We are looking at making our first trip at the end of April 04. With Easter being early next year, what do you think my chances are of getting a 2 BDR? I won't be able to make a ressie for about 2 weeks, once the sale is final and I get my member number (I can't wait).

Congratulations & Welcome Home to a fellow BWV owner!!!

Congratulations on the resale. It sounds like a good deal.

I don't think you will have any problem getting a reservation. Up to the opening of the 7 month window you might even be able to get a standard view for the end of April. Maybe even after.

Congratulations!!! That's great news!!! We are waiting to hear on ROFR with the same scenario - 2002 & 2003 points - BWV - $73 point, we pay closing. Maybe we have a chance.... :D

WDWorls2003:

Good luck!!! I don't think you will have any problems at all. From what I've been told, because of the higher than normal bid, it was easier to get through ROFR(don't know if this is true or someone is trying to make me feel better), but I do know there are several people out there that have been waiting their full 30 days to get an answer back and mine was soooo quick (for ROFR anyway).

Thanks to everyone who wished us a "Welcome Home", my whole family can not wait to get to BWV and hear those words in person for the first time!!!

COngratulations and welcome home! Good luck with that first ressie.

Congrads and welcome home!

I just heard back from Jaki about my resale and got approved with in 14 days too!

My details are:

350 package at Old Key West with use year June

211 Banked from 2002
350 from 2003

$72/point and I paid only 9 months of maintenance with closing costs of $600.

The original offer was $70/point and I pay all of 2003 maintenance.

I believe that since I made the $72/point offer that Disney didn't practice the ROFR.

Although you don't have any basis for comparison since you've not stayed at any Disney resort in the past, I think you'll be more than happy with the decision to buy into DVC. I've been a member since 1992, added on several times since; it's been one of the best decisions I've made.

Enjoy!

Hey Maistre Gracey....Jeanie Gets my vote. BTW, is that a real autograph?

Wonderful news!!! Welcome home!!! :p
Seems like there have been quite a few ROFR successes lately!
