Bye Bye Palio :(

This might have been addressed already but I just read this on wdwig.com..

"Palio at the Swan Resort will close effective September 3, 2006. The space will be renovated and a new restaurant will occupy the space. No further details at this time."

Any rumors yet about what might replace it? Hopefully they'll find something as successful as Fresh and bluezoo are over at the Dolphin.

Wow. It's been a long time since I've seen the URL wdwig.com! It's been allearsnet.com for several years now.

But thanks for the post. I knew it was closed for remodeling but wasn't aware it was going to be replaced by a new restaurant! Kind of a shame as it was probably the best Italian restaurant in WDW. We only went once and just had pizza, but enjoyed our meal there. :sigh:

Buh-Bye Palio, Hello New York

This weekend, the Palio restaurant in the Swan hotel closed its doors. A major rehab will ensue, and sometime in January or February, the doors will swing open to a new name and a new theme (reportedly "Il Milano," after a restaurant in New York). It will be more of a trattoria than a formal dining experience.​

We loved Palio too. Shame I had just recently discovered it. I will miss the shrimp & cannelini bean mash......
