The only real loss is for the charities he supported. I guess he did a lot of good in the area for raising $$ for different charities but as far as a ball player, I always felt he was over-rated. He always gave me the impression that he was pretty stuck on himself.
Now, if we could get Randy Johnson or even that sun-flower seed spitting bully Rocket Roger here.....( I always had a soft spot for Roger Clemens )

For someone who rejected a 4 year 60 million dollar contract to stay with a team he says he wanted to end his career with, I say, it's about time they get something for a superstar who was about to walk away during free agency (ala Clemens and Vaughn, to name a few).

And besides, if he had stayed, he'd be on the DL more times than not (if the reports are true that he said he'd have to go back on the DL soon). Why not improve on the ridiculously bad defense?

That said, is it too late for me to say that i'm going to miss him?

(Remember, Nomar's a free agent after this season...cub fans, don't get your hopes up past this year)
