You know, I head the news last night on the way home from work while I was listening to NPR. How is it that she flew under my radar? She's one of those hidden gems, that I am now going to have to do some work to find out more about. She sounded like a hoot. I mean, who stops midperformance to tell people to stop talking in the audience or backstage? :lmao:

It's sad when the world loses such a great talent and character. But, the good news is, I think she still made a fan, even after her death. :thumbsup2

That is sad news.

She was a unique talent, to be sure.

I didn't realize that she also did some of the voices for "Schoolhouse Rock!"

How cool is that?:thumbsup2

RIP Blossom.

And thanks for the links, wallyb. :thumbsup2

Time for Blossom 'n cocktails. :music:

Love the first two.
Don't think this last one is Blossom.

Interplanet Janet, right? I didn't think it sounded like her either, but I read online that it was her. Upon listening again, I think you're right though.

Still, "Unpack Your Adjectives" is one of my all time SHR! faves.

I wonder if she wrote them too?
I so wanted to see her in NYC. :guilty:

No. They were written by Bob Dorough (sp?) and Lyne Ahrens for the most part as I recall.

Lyne Ahrens' voice can be heard on "A Noun is a Person Place or Thing" and Bob's voice is the very distinctinve one heard on "Conjunction Junction", "I'm Just a Bill" and others.

As a side note, Lyne Ahrens has written the music for several Broadway shows including Suessical, Once on This Island, and Ragtime.
