I mentioned this pie in a thread about specialties on the community board. I got a few requests for the recipe so I will post it here. There is a "Disney"story to this pie. Years ago(like 16) I had some sort of chcolate chip pie at the Main St Bake Shop. A couple years ago when I thought of it again, I went on a quest to find a recipe for the same thing. I dont think this is the identical recipe, but its close...and yummy!
1 unbaked 9 in pie shell(I use the Pillsbury ready made stuff)
2 large eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 cup Nestle Toll House semisweet chcolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
whip cream or icecream(optional)
Preheat oven to 325
Beat eggs on high until foamy
Beat in flour, sugar, brown sugar, and butter
Stir in chips & nuts
Spoon into shell
Bake 55-60 minutes or until knife inserted half way between outside edge and center comes out clean
Cool on wire rack(I just stick the pie pan on a burner on the stove, off of course)
Serve warm, top with whipped cream or ice cream
I then store it in the refrigerator, but when I cut a piece I pop it in the microwave for about 15 second, just enough to get the chips soft. Thats the best way to eat it.
Enjoy!
