I, like many of you have grown up with Disney. My family and I have been to WDW many times but I have always wanted to see the original. In December, I will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon and evening at DL/DCA. I plan on getting the park hopper day ticket but I have some questions as a newbie....

Can I utilize Fastpass with just a day ticket and no hotel stay?

What rides do and do not offer Fastpass?

What is typically faster, using Fastpass or a Single Rider line?

What rides have Single Rider lines?

Is there any show that is a "must see"?

Thanks for the help!!

You can use fastpass for sure.

Single Rider line is nice.

I really like Fantasmic and the fireworks. I have not see WOC yet. Not sure if you could see all three in one day but maybe? Which day are you going?

Yes you can use FP on a day ticket. SR is usually faster than FP but it depends on the ride and time of day. I would start off using FP for the non-SR rides (like Space Mtn and ToT) and then only getting FP for the SR rides when you have the opportunity.

For a WDW vet I would say do World of Color at DCA. Fantasmic is better at DL but still similar to WDW. And the Christmas fireworks show is fun but still just fireworks. WOC is amazing and unique. If you have time the Aladdin stage show is excellent and IMO better than any of the WDW stage shows.

Have a magical day at DLR! :wizard:

Because you arriving after noon you probably will want to pre-order a picnic for WOC so you are sure to get a fastpass for it. (Fastpass is required to get in the show). If there is two showings of Fantasmic you could get the dessert Fantasmic for the second show...

Thanks SplashMo and HydroGuy! These are great ideas that will help insure that I make the most of my limited time. I really appreciate your help!

Keep in mind - and I don't think this has been emphasized so far - going at Christmas time is a very magical, amazing time of year. It's like 'regular' Disneyland, but 1000% more incredible. Take advantage of the DLR holiday offerings.

You don't want to miss taking in the gorgeous Winter Castle at night, totally draped in icicle lights and glowing throughout the park.

You do not want to miss It's a Small World Holiday - IASW is totally made over inside and out for the season, with different songs and holiday aromas (like peppermint and pine) piped in. It's a complete transformation that is exclusive to Disneyland. At night, IASWH is absolutely breathtaking as it its colored lights appear.

You don't want to miss Haunted Mansion Holiday - another complete overlay on an existing ride.

You will want to check out Santa's Reindeer Round-Up, because it has incredible little details as well as being one of the places at which Santa will appear.

If you decide to take a rest, you might want to mosey on over to the Grand Californian Hotel (it's very close) and get caught up in the wonderful spirit of the season by listening to the carolers by the enormous tree, as well as the guitarist and piano player.

ToonTown has its own special Christmas decorations. Similarly, in DCA, A Bug's Land has giant Christmas lights and ornaments to go along with the "oversized' feeling of that land.

OH GOOD CALL SHERRY..yes the GCH has a nice fireplace and lounge area, where you can sip a nice glass of wine or hot chocolate and just chill!
