In light of all the events this past week, I have been contemplating "before and after". You know...what life was before Tuesday morning and how it is now. Look at the headlines of your local paper on Tuesday morning and compare it to Wednesday's. Read the posts here on Monday compared to the thoughts reflected on Tuesday. Inspect the projects you were working on at your desk from Monday evening to Tuesday evening. Indeed, all facets of our lives have changed permanently and are still changing by the hour, it seems. I recall recently a post on this board, I believe, about Travel Pet Peeves. There were dozens of replies and a lot of them reflected our impatience while traveling...impatience with our fellow travelers, with the airlines, with the long lines on the WDW buses or the infrequency of them. Now, as stricter traveling procedures are put in place for the benefit of our safety, we have miraculously stopped griping. But as the days pass without any survivors being pulled from the awful wreckage and we are all feeling even more saddened (if that is even possible), I have to keep reminding myself that for many of those unfortunate ones who will never come out of the ashes alive it is because they have gone on to an even more desirable "line" that we should all hope to be in someday...the line to get into heaven! One by one, they must have all been greeted by the Most Special Character of all. They were all given special hugs as Jesus wrapped His loving arms around them. Pixie dust can not even compare to the Magic that awaited them.
In the future as I wait in any line...the supermarket, the freeway, the bank, and even the check-in line at my favorite WDW resort, I will have to remind myself about Sept. 11, 2001 when there was a very long line - thousands deep - for the Best Attraction of them all. And I hope this reminder will help me to become a more patient person and a more generous person.
God Bless us all as we come to grips with these events and may we all anticipate waiting in that special line that awaits us all.
