Hi.

Is it expected that there will be a big construction zone going on in October with the BW refurb?
When we were there this October, each night there was something going on on the lawn by the BW and even characters
sometimes during the day. I was thinking, if I could, trying to book here instead of GFVs for October
with my grandson but not sure if there will be too much of a construction zone.

Thank you.

At this point, it's al just speculation that Q3-Q4 will be the BWV refurb. There are no official sources.

It's a risk you take.

I had an absolute nightmare staying at VGF2 in construction. The booking availability for BW for October is enough confirmation to me to avoid it. Id check that thread to see how it lines up with your timing.

Agree with this. It's why we are avoiding Poly this Christmas (had 7 days lined up) and didn't consider it or VGF for our summer trip.

VGF should be fine. All the GF cash construction is almost done, and Poly2 isn't that close to either VGF DVC building.

Poly 2 = walking path rerouted across a busy street. From what I understood they still have several buildings to go at Grand Floridian, including the main building / lobby reimagination. I would also consider Poly2 close to the original building.

Yes, the walking path was a nightmare, I can see that mattering. But I don't think the noise would be an issue. That's a pretty good distance, and the wedding pavilion is between it.

Yeah, it's the cash guests who are really getting the suck with the Poly2 construction.

Agreed, cash guests at Poly but the building is not "that far" from the original VGF building. With construction on this being from the ground up it is going to be loud.

Thank you all very much.
I appreciate you all taking the time to give me your experiences.
It was either GF one bedroom or BWVs, and not even sure I could get BWVs in October (although I always have in the past at 7 months, including a week this October).
I think I will stick with GFVs. We love it there and will do BWVs another year.

On the topic of the upcoming refurb, would it be a safe assumption that sofa beds would be replaced by the new pull down ones? Looking to buy BWV or SSR and those new pull downs are a HUGE improvement!

Quite safe, I'd say, since the understanding has been that all resorts (but for VGF resort studios and probably OKW) will eventually get Murphys.

I was surprised that the refurbishments (VGF1 and BRV) included those. Seemed more a renovation than refurb thing to me. But, what do I know? :confused3

I surmise that installing those units doesn’t require much in the way of structural work, they just have to be secured to the existing studs, so it’s not difficult to include in a soft goods refresh. I’m glad that they’re able to switch over from sofa beds to Murphys so easily.
