Our first trip home is on Saturday for a full 3 weeks at a studio standard view and I forgot to ask at the 11 month window for our room preferences. I have been told by the RM that the only room left is on the 1st floor near the parking lot, about half way down.

I've been reading the threads all year about top floor, firework views, are there any plus points for being on the first floor (is this the ground floor in the UK) or will we just be disappointed.

Our family loves the first floor. We've been in room 1109 the last two times. You have more room since the grass is right off the balcony. Our daughter loves to do cartwheels right there.

You are right in between Luna Park Pool and the Quiet Pool. Saves money on drinks since it's an easy walk back to the room from either pool.

Say hi to the ducks that come right up to your door. The kids thought that was great.

You can still see some of the fireworks. An easy walk to the boardwalk and you can see a lot of them.

Not to worry. You'll love it. I think you got a better deal.

I bet it'll be fine but, if it's not, remind them that you are going to be there for 3 weeks and would appreciate some help. They may charge you the room move fee but for that long a stay I wouldn't want to be miserable.

I never thought about the location to the pools, that sounds great. I'm sure we will have a good time and we will remember you to the ducks.

We have stayed in a standard studio on the first floor in that area on two occasions and had no problems. As stated in a prior post, it was close to the pool. Also, becaue of the terrain you are looking at andscaping rather than the parking lot and there was no noise to speak of.

Our kids also loved the ducks.

That location is fine for a standard view. Chances are you would not be watching the fireworks from your room regardless of the room and that is the only, very minor, drawback. You have a very short walk to the pools, a short walk to Community Hall and a very short walk to the bus stop. We loved the ducks and the grass outside the room as well. I had a room near there recently and it worked out great. Have fun...
