Where are the stairs?

Not sure what to tell you, but we had a set outside our room that exited behind the ATM machine on the boardwalk. On the second floor, they are located in the hallway where the benches are in the middle of the hall.

Thanks Mike. Now I need a little help with the translation...

Is this at the end of the hallway that has the boardwalk view/croquet lawn view rooms?

There are stairs located through out the resort. Look around when you get to your room. If you are the victim of a long hallway, chances are if you keep going down that hall you will find a staircase at the end of it. The problem isn't a lack of stairs, it is a lack of elevators. If you find yourself using the stairs instead of the elevators, check to make sure your card key will open the door. If it doesn't, go to reception or concierge to be sure you can get back in the way you leave.

When you check into the room, look at the fire safety exit map posted on the back of your door. It will show you the closest stairs to your room.

Have a great stay -- Suzanne

I have a prefered room reserved. I waitlisted for BWview (at 7 months) but since it is Pres. Week, nota chance. Would love to try it sometime.

It sounds like there are stairways at the ends of the hallways (4) and even even a few in other places that I couldn't quite figure out since I haven't stayed there. [this was from doing a quick search - yes, I actually tried that search function again!]

Yes, that stairway is located down the hall that eventually leads to the area that overlooks the croquet lawn. It isn't that far from the elevators though. It is right near the first set of GV's and is the easiest way out to the Boardwalk but you can't get back into the stairway from the outside.

The long hallway toward MGM (and the standard view rooms and the quiet pool) has a stairway at the end that leads out to the path that heads to MGM. You can go in and out of that door. Right before you turn down the final hallway to that stairway is another on the right that will take you down to an easy exit to the bus stop and/or the parking area. You have to cross over to the other side of the hall to exit but it again is one you can both go in and out of.

Learn the stairway locations and your visit to the BWV will go a lot easier.

Back in Sept., I think we were as far away as we could have possibly gotten. Our room was at the very end attached to Jellyrolls (Room 2001). But, there was a stairwell and door right outside our room to the walkway to MGM. It was actually a great location. :)

We had a boardwalk view above the Big River Grill.

I can't offer any additional help on the stairs at BWV but I did want to wish you a great trip! Maybe they will open the model rooms for AKV while you're there!

If you're going to walk to MGM, then the stairs at the far end of the BWV is probably a better choice anyway.

Years ago I measured the hallways at BWV. I forget the exact length, but from the Front Entrance to the lobby, to the stairs at the far end of the building, was something like 825 feet, or roughly just less than the length of 3 football fields.

I do remember that from the back stairwell to the entrance to MGM is at 0.55 mile.

It is - the upper floor BW view rooms at that end (especially 4001 and 5001) have the best Illuminations view of ANY room in ANY WDW resort!!

On the hallways that contains the SV units, they are spaced out. I think there are 3 sets including the one at the end of the hallway. The other 2 are at the bends of the building. One comes out right by the side exit where the walkway comes in and the other where the building splits walking down that hall and comes out where you could go to either the quiet pool or feature pool.

I'm not sure for the BW view side but would assume a similar setup. One was mentioned that comes out ? between Wyland and the general store. I'm sure there's another about the area of the preview rooms but don't know which side it exits on, it likely exits to the other side near the MGM walkway and behind Jelly Rolls as does the one on that end of the building.

Thanks everyone for the help.

We are stair type of people anyway so this will be very helpful.

I just wish the forcast was a little more promising.
