DW and I have a deposit on VWL. However, we are considering a resale at bw, but we have a couple of questions. 1) if you had 3yr old twins, which is better? 2) how difficult is it to get reservations at 11 months in bwv? better yet 7 months?

I can only tell you what others have said and that is BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY...We have points at OKW & BWV and I truly know that if we didn't have those points at BW we would not be able to stay there...not that we haven't gotten lucky but you can't depend on luck all the time...VWL is beautiful we have stayed there in Dec and had a great time but our heart is in BW we all just love the LOCATION,LOCATION,LOCATION did I say LOCATION! We have stayed in OKW and loved it there also, quiet but as we only stayed in a studio can't compare it to BW as we have stayed in a 1 bdrm and now we will be in a 2 bdr in Dec with 6 people 4 adults and 2 small children, which I called at the 11th month window and got a standard because I own there...at the 7 month window I think it would be impossible to get the standard...why not buy a little of BW and VWL or a resale at OKW... 2 small contracts are really better then 1 big one..which ever way you go you will not regret it asall the DVC resorts are out of this world...Have fun and a great Disney day...Marianneº0º

I own at OKW, and I didn't have a problem booking 7 months for BWV studio, the standard view rooms were not available, but we wanted preferred view anyway, so it worked for us!!! :)

I still say buy where you want to stay though!!! It just makes it that much easier! :)

I apologize now if this gets long. When we first began considering DVC we were on a trip in Dec '99 staying at the WL. We fell in love with the WL and knew thats where we wanted our home resort to be. Over the next few monthes following this trip we discussed DVC at legnth and I posted several questions here. We returned to the WL in June of 2000 for 10 days, we had spent the first 2 nights at the BC before moving to the WL. We found ourselves a little bored at the WL after only a week, this was a summer visit and during summer visits we spend a good amount of time at the resort whereas during our Dec trips we spend very little time there. Ergo something we had not considered during our Dec trip to WL.
We went over to the BW for our tour and instantly fell in love. Keep in mind our kids are 8 and 11(that might make a differnce)
The point of my ramblings is this, if you like laid back and very quite, the WL is great!!! It is beautiful and no one can argue with that. But if you want the best location, many dining choices and always something to do, BW is the better choice.
Needless to say we bought last summer at the BWV and went home for the first time in Dec.

I can only speak for our experience-we love the location and activity at BWV. At night you can stroll and see the boardwalk performers or grab something from the bakery or stands...the activity is fun to watch. And walking to Epcot is our favorite thing to do. But WL is beautiful-just quieter. People who own there though also love it-so thinking about your preferences is important. WL has nice pools, paths, boats to rent and a cafeteria with cups to buy and refill for free! So both are good-it is up to you and what you want around you. At BWV, you even grow to love the friendship boats and all the sights and sounds-it all seems like yours!

I also agree that you should buy where you want to stay. However, having said that we are BWV owners and could only get into OKW last year and absolutely loved it. We also toured WLV and hope to stay there some day also. We also stayed at VB and loved it, as well. We aren't as particular about the surroundings as we feel they all have something special to offer and all the rooms are absolutely gorgeous. OKW does have bigger rooms and is quieter but BWV and WLV have more variety as far as restaurants and transportation directly to the parks. I know this probably doesn't help but wanted to add our thoughts. Good luck with your decision!
