I was looking at pics of the two "different" resorts, and I'm a bit confused. I only visited BW in 2003, I believe, and I don't really remember the room decor.

The decor seems pretty different, was BWI updated recently, or do they just have a completely different looks?

Here's one I found of BWI:

They look so very different, so when was the last time BWV were updated? I know the differences between a hotel room at BWI and the villa room at BWV; I'm strictly talking the way-differing decor.

BWI is so much brighter and more inviting. I love the wallpaper and torches, and the bed is much more elegant. (The carpet is the same though..lol)

They have always been different. That BWI room has been that decor forever. BWV has always had a brighter appearance. BWV was recently redone in 2009 to 2010 but color changes other than carpeting were not much and most furniture remained the same.

You can't use DVC points to stay at BWI, only BWV.

I know. I was just wondering why, if BWV were just a DVC extension of BWI, then why does the decor seem so different?

The bedding, the walls, lamps, headboard - everything - looks nicer (in photos, mind you) at BWI.

it appears the BWV photo is of a 1 bdrm (with king bed), in the dark.

i believe those are the pre-renovation furnishings also :confused3
there are not a lot of doo-dads in the bwvs, but that photo certainly does not do it justice either (it shows just a fraction of the room, with very little lighting). the artwork, armoire, jacuzzi, full kitchen, etc are all missing....

IMO it's mostly the terrible bedspreads that DVC uses in the majority of their resorts. :sad2:

You know, that's probably most of it. Those cheap, ugly bedspreads. I usually throw mine in a corner if they're that bad and unusable.

The one at BWI looks inviting, clean and soft.

But BWV isn't just an extension of the BWI. They were built at the same time, totally separate. Member dues pay for renovations at DVC resorts. The guests payments pay for them at the non-DVC resorts.

Hotel rooms should look different from timeshares with kitchens, living rooms, etc. You're stuck with one room.

Both pictures are post-renovation.
