we love boardwalk and have stayed there numerous times. We love being close to Epcot for food and wine and love an evening at Jellyrolls. Our offer on BWV was taken by the mouse so our agent is trying to convince us to make an offer on a beach club contract. We've never stayed there so we just don't know. What are the pluses to beach club?

We prefer BWV to BCV and we own both. BCV is associated with a nice resort complex YC and BC but the building is behind the resort and doesn't really have much in the way of views.

We love them both. Own at the boardwalk so we stay there most often. Beach club I think is smaller so most likely harder to find availability after the priority window. Access to Stormalong bay at the beach club would be the biggest plus for me. We like to be able to walk to both Epcot and the studios which you can do from either. Good luck with your purchase.

The big plus at BCV is to pool, and parking The big plus at BWV is Standard view and the lower points the negative is the parking at BWV and the long hallways. Both are top notch resorts, good luck deciding.

BCV parking may be changing as Disney enlarges the convention center into the YC/BC parking lot and pushes more cars into the BCV parking lot.

Big differences, outside of the themes are as people have stated, the pool(BCV wins there) and BCV does not offer much in the way of views.

Also, in my opinion, from the prices I see on line, BCV is the worst value on the resale market. They are the highest of the 2042 resorts, and I think the maintenance fees are more.

I like BCV, but if you were looking to buy at BWV, just wait it out. It is way to big of a purchase not to be patient. I understand chomping at the bit, but if you look at the various sites you will find a contract that fits your needs soon.

When you factor in the walk from the front desk, through the courtyard and finally to the DVC villas at BCV, do you still think BWV has a longer walk? I don't remember our walks at BWV being as long as the one we had at BCV.

And I don't think anything will ever be as bad as Kidani, if you get one of rooms at the far end away from the lobby. We were about the third room from the end. I think our walk was about 1/3 of a mile. It was a great view, but you definitely wanted to make sure you had everything you wanted from the lobby/store before you headed back to the room for the night! It would've been nice to have one of these for that trip! :moped:

I never have to go from the front desk to my unit. With online check-in and room ready, I just go to the unit.

We prefer BWV, I like the quiet pools better at BWV, easy walk to both HS, and EPCOT. Now if the grandkids were with us I would pick BC because of the larger pool.

If you love Stormalong Bay then BCV is a great choice because you can't use pool hopping at Stormalong. We aren't crazy about that pool (too hectic) so we prefer BWV. We love the BW view rooms which are about the same number of points/reservation as the rooms at BCV, and those do not have much of a view. We also like the nightly activities on the BW. You can certainly walk to the BW activities from BCV but it surely is nice having the fun so handy. We also like the quick walk to Studios as well as Epcot from BWV.

I think BWV is a better value. Cheaper up front AND standard view option. Unless you can get BCV for at or less than BWV, I'd stick with BWV.

That is a very good point you make. :) Just goes to show you how long it's been since we stayed there!! They didn't have online check-in the last time we stayed there.

We originally purchased at BWV, and sold it to buy BCV. We love it there! Stormalong Bay is amazing. Movies and s'mores on the beach is really nice. Parking is MUCH better, and the rooms are MUCH closer.
There are other differences as well, but not so important. As far as views, we always got a swan/dolphin view at BWV, and we think those hotels are the ugliest things ever. We much prefer the views at BCV. The courtyard view is gorgeous, the quiet pool view is okay...but we love the woods view, and consider it a great bonus if we can watch Illuminations. We like the food options at BCV better. The Marketplace carries more grocery items than the Screen Door, so if we have to stay at BWV, we often walk to the Marketplace to buy our groceries. I love the salads, pizzas, and sandwiches they make in the Marketplace. Between that, Hurricane Hannah's and B&C, we are set! I get grumpy when I am at BWV, need something from the Screen Door, and it is raining. We tend to go to our room on rainy days, but love being able to go easily between BCV and the hotel. When we drive, we usually bring a volleyball, and play some games on the sand court. And with the back entrance into the villas, you are super close to Epcot. The walk to HS is MUCH shorter from BWV, but we always take the boat there.

Of course, BWV is always our second choice if we cannot get into BCV. It is a beautiful resort as well....we just like BCV better.

You really cannot go wrong with either.

Why would you switch based on the agents push? BCV does cost more so assuming you buy the same amount of points they'll get a larger commission and be happy but you won't have a resort you know you'll like.

Buy where YOU want to own and stay. There are more BWV contracts - just perhaps not with the same agent you were working with.

We own at BWV, so we obviously like that one. I think it really depends on what you are looking for. Before buying, we stayed at Beach Club many times when teh kids were younger. Once the kids were in college, we liked BWV better.
I think it comes down whether you want a busier resort with a really nice (but busy pool, especially if you have younger kids), then BCV is your choice.
If you want a quieter resort, and the pool isn't quite as important (its still nice, just not Stormalong nice), then BWV is a good choice.

It seems like you really want BWV, so don't compromise. There are plenty of BWV contracts out there to choose from. We own at AKV, but have stayed at both BCV and BWV. My personal favorite is BWV. There is just something about the feel of that resort that appeals to me. I love the lobby, pool area, lounge, screen door, restaurants and access to both parks. More than anything, I love the boardwalk view rooms. Stormalong Bay is great and the proximity to the IG is awesome, but the views at BCV stink. I will Agee that parking at BCV beats BWV, but we don't really care about the parking. The higher price at BCV is definitely a deal breaker for me.

I think you should wait for a BWV contract that meets your needs. It's obviously what you want!

The big plus to BWV for us is the standard view villa points. What a bargain!!
