I'm new to this so please bear with me... will be bringing 4 teenagers down this July (heaven help us)and have a choice of BWV or BCV. Which would be more fun for them?

depends - do they love to swim - then BCV - that pool can't be beat.

or do they party -- then BWV - the community hall has games for them to play - then the BW wakes up.

if they like both I would go with the BWV - teenagers (or at least the ones I know) like to be where the action is - and the action is at BW.

however there use to be on Fri, Sat or Sun nights a beach party in front of the main pool - does this still happen?

I wouldn't think it would make much difference to teenagers. SAB could be very important. Certainly everything at the BW is easily accessible to BCV. You can't lose with either one, unless SAB is very important. Also it depends on the age of the teens. SAB may not be very interesting to 18 and 19 year olds.

SAB??? Whats SAB??? If its important I need to know... like I said I'm new to this and these abbreviatiions (ABBR??) drive me crazy.

SAB is (stormalong bay) the swimming pool that only guest at YC, BC, and BCV are aloud to use. If you stay at BWV you cannot pool hope to SAB. Never use it yet so someone else will have to tell what is there.

The pool at BWV is luna pool and we loved it there.:bounce: :bounce:

hi: i've had teens going with us for years (our youngest is 16yo). they liked pool hopping over to sab when they still had that available. the bcv as a resort seem to be a bit quieter than bwv although we haven't stayed at bcv yet so this is just an impression. my kids have always loved bwv, so they are a bit prejudiced toward that resort. there is a bit more to do at bwv for kids in my opinion. we've gone with kids from age 5 to 70 over the years and they all seem to like the bw.

My teens like BWV better, due to the fact that there is so much going on. They especially liked "dueling pianos", which they sneaked into. They also enjoyed the dancehall. I personally love BCV because of SAB--I love a pool that is actually a group of pools, and if there are kids who are obnoxious--there are always kids at the pool who are obnoxious--the pool is so large that you can go to another area, and never see the offending kids again!;)

If your kids saw the dueling piano's, then the place they snuck into is Jelly Rolls. They were there to drink, because it's a bar. Hope they were 21. But who knows, maybe they have a taste for fine piano music. Beach Club's Storm-A-Long Bay is awesome, and is the largest pool at Disney World. It has a great slide coming off a ship wreck and right into the main pool. You can walk over to BoardWalk from Beach Club. But either place is great. They can even go to the ESPN Sports Zone. It's another bar, but it's also a great restaurant. :smooth:

Oops, this could either get Jelly Rolls in trouble and cause them to loose thier license for serving underage minors, or cause the underage minors problems with the authorities, couldn't it?

Gosh, I'd think teenagers would be in heaven at either BWV or BCV, depending on the other teenagers that are there at the time.

I'll try to give a little more info on SAB. As mentioned it is a series of pools, connected. The slide is 300 ft long(currently shut down for repairs). SAB has a sand bottom. In one area there is a "current" which will carry you along on a float or otherwise. In another

area there is a sand beach where you walk out of the pool onto the beach. And not for teenagers, there is a great bar right in the middle of the complex. As mentioned the SAB is not eligible for pool hopping. But you could stay at BCV and hop to BWV Luna pool.

And as I mentioned above BCV vs BWV could depend on the teens ages.

First let me explain something, BCV is a three to four minute casual walk from BWV. Regardless of where you stay in the Epcot resort area (which inlcudes BW, YC/BC and Swan/Dolphin you have easy access to MGM and Epcot and to all the resorts there. You also have easy access to the boardwalk at night and to all the restaurants in the resorts and those two parks.

Thus, for the most part which one you stay at makes little difference. But differences are:

1. SAB (Stormalong Bay) is the pool/actually a mini waterpark at YC/BC. It is huge, has a sand bottom and is considered by many to be the best resort pool on site. Only those staying at YC/BC (including BCV) can use it.

2. BCV also has its own "quiet" pool -- just a normal pool. BCV is not directly on the lake like BWV. Also, to get to SAB or other things at BC from BCV takes a bit of walking from BCV to and through BC.

3. At BWV, which has a very good pool with a huge slide, you stay close to everything -- the boardwalk, the resort pool, game hall; mainly you walk from your room to the elevator (which can sometimes be a long walk) and once off the elevator you are in the middle of the boardwalk and right at the pool area. Thus, you are essentially right in the hub of the most active areas of the Epcot resort area. Just because of that closeness, BWV might be considered better by your teens (if they are like my teens, the poor things likely have a genetic disability which shows up whenever they have to "walk all the way over to there" -- usually meaning any distance greater than 40 yards -- to get to something.

I think a lot depends on the ages of the teens. When my kids were young teens they loved SAB, now that they are late teens/young adults the pool no longer matters, they are just as happy at Luna Park becuase all they care about it laying out and getting a tan and they prefer the upbeat atmosphere of the boardwalk at night.

I have been going to bw 2x ayear for years and my teens and their friends all 4 are now 17 & 18, will only go to bw where all the action is, also they meet other teens who come to hang out from bc...boring bcv ,we have stayed everwhere on disney they only like bw or contempory, that's it. we go two weeks in july and 2 weeks at xmas.

I consider the whole "loop" the Boardwalk! It's no big deal to walk from YC/BC to the BW, IMHO. We do it a hundred times a day, lol!
I have teen boys, 15 and 17. They LOVE Stormalong Bay. So much, as a matter of fact, that we sold the 180 points we had at OKW and bought 200 at BCV (we now own at BWV and BCV).
The pool can't be beat. You can rent tubes or, even better, Noodles and just float for hours! My boys always manage to meet other teens (girls, of course!) either in that pool or the HUGE arcade, which is right off the pool.
I would say to go with the BCV. That way, you can enjoy SAB, and have the option to pool hop over to BWV. The arcade is great for kids, as well as Beaches and Cream, which is a "soda fountain" type of retaurant, that serves GREAT burgers, and, of course, ice cream!
My vote is DEFINITELY for BCV. Newer rooms, SAB, and only 5 minute walk to BW, where the "action" is!!!!

If they are swimmers, then I would say BCV because there is no other hotel pool on property that compares to SAB. BCV has access to all the restaurants and stuff in the BC, and Beaches and Cream is a favorite place fro burgers and ice cream. BCV are a little closer to Epcot than BWV, but that difference is negligible...maybe a 3 minute longer walk to BWV. They are both essentially in the same location in terms of access to the Boardwalk, its restaurants and entertainment. The BW is a little closer to the walkway to MGM, but again, the differneces in terms of anything other than the pool are negligible.
