Last summer we stayed at the BWV and had a second floor pool view room...in March we had a first floor pool view room, which we liked alot more...it was nice to be able to sit on the patio, walk to the pool bar etc...

well now we are going again in August...I have requested a first floor pool view room, because we enjoyed it so much last time, however I am kind of torn between that and requesting a view of the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake....I don't think the noise wouldn't be an issue for us...I do like the advantages of being on the first floor, but I have been reading alot about the views and excitement of having a balcony overlooking the BW and being able to see Epcot etc...

any opinions on the two???...maybe someone can help sway us one way or the other...

You might want to check if you can even reserve this type of view. I thought I had read those rooms were held for actual DVC members and usually go quickly. I could be mistaken.

Are you actually referring to the Villas or the Boardwalk Inn?

Wish I could be more help.

I am renting points from a DVC member...he put in the request for the first floor pool view room when he made the reservation...I am just having second thoughts about possibly changing to the BW view...

Boardwalk view is now a separate request at the Bw...and they go almost immediately....If you don't have it the chances are slim...but hey it can't hurt to ask..

With a 2yo I am wondering if ground floor pool view is the best idea for our family... Can you actually just walk from your patio to the pool or is there some sort of gate to block easy access?

Right now we have bw view booked and I'm consider changing to ground floor b/c of strollers, long hallways etc.

You could get a long hallway with pool view also. Some of the ones around the quiet pool are a long way.

There are shrubs, flowers and bushes around the patios. You really aren't supposed to walk through them to get to the pool. Plus you can't lock your room from the outside, only from the standard room door in the corridor.

TOESMOM,

the room we had in March was on the first floor with a view of the pool...our 2 year old DD had a blast seeing the ducks each morning on the patio...while some of the rooms have some shrubbery near them, ours had very little...there was a short strip of mulch with spaced out small bushes...

it was nice being on the first floor because our daughter won't sleep if there is anyone in the room with her...each afternoon while she napped DW and I would sit on the patio, this way I could walk over to the pool bar for drinks and even use the pool restrooms, without ever having to go back in the room...

If you decide to switch, I would recommend a room close to the gym and arcade...it is a very short walk from there to get out onto the BW...and you're also close to the lobby from there...

I am just torn because the idea of sitting on a BW view balcony and absorbing in all the sights and sounds seems so appealing...but from some of the previous posts it sounds like it's probably to late...oh well, maybe next time...
