Most of our trip will be spent in the BWV area so I'm good with getting to Epcot and DHS. From what I read here the bus to MK may involve multiple stops and a 40 minute ride? So be it! Hopeing to make MK rope drop on Thursday EMH (last week of march). WHAT TIME SHOULD I be at the bus stop?

Any tricks to getting to DTD from the BWV? Would it be better to walk to DHS and take a bus from there to DTD

TIA

If you are heading to MK for rope drop, you won't have a hugely long bus ride. The buses start running about 6:30, so if rope drop is 9, be out at the MK bus stop by 8..that gives you 30 mins for the wait and ride...giving you a good 30 mins before rope drop. If you get to the bus stop around 8:30, you are going to have a lot of company!!
The bus will most likely stop at the S/D as well...perhaps prior to BW, perhaps after...I can never remember which it is.

To get to DTD from BW, take their bus. If you went to DHS, you would be out of luck. There are no buses to DTD from any park. It is always the best idea to use the bus at your particular resort.

It would seem that you are worried about the buses at BW. Seriously, stop worrying. They aren't all that bad!!! This is my home resort, and while there is always room for improvement, the buses are fine.

This past December when my family and I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn when going to the Magic Kingdom for AM Extra Magic Hour we only waited 5 minutes for the bus and that was after just missing a previous one. It had already arrived from the Swan & Dolphin, so after we left the Boadwalk it was off to the Magic Kingdom.

Completely Agree with goofy4tink. Buses from BWV aren't all that bad. And we've never had a 40 minute ride to the MK from there. Buses first thing in the morning are almost always frequent and quick. And I agree - get to the bus stop about 7:55 am and you will have no trouble at all making rope drop. You'll probably be waiting for them to open the turnstiles. That's been our experience.

The "bad" about the MK & AK buses is if you need to return to the BWV mid-day. Those rides can take a long time because in the middle of the day, buses are shared with all the EPCOT resorts (Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC & BWI/BWV) and BW is usually the last stop. When that happens, we just get off at the Swan and walk to the BWV. We always beat the bus.

My experience going from the Magic Kingdom to the Boardwalk Inn/Villas during mid-day was not like that at all. This past December after getting on the bus it's first stop was the Boardwalk and then it was going to the Swan & Dolphin. So we didn't need to stop at the Yacht Club & Beach Club.

We have never had a problem with the bus to the MK. Ask the front desk when the first bus is scheduled to come......we usually are the only ones on it, and arrive at MK within 10-15 minutes.

Those of us who routinely stay at BW have had the experience of stopping at YC and BC while on the bus back to BW. Doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen.

The front desk doesn't have a clue as to when the buses are coming. The first bus of the day arrives around 6:30...plan from there.

I can't speak for the buses coming back from the Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney since we drove to those locations, however the sign at the Boardwalk stop in the Magic Kingdom only included the Swan and Dolphin. The Yacht Club and Beach Club had their own waiting sectioin. Now I realize that they sometimes make all 5 resorts share and it might be during slow times and I got that from various posts on here. However since the signs at the bus stations for parks and Downtown Disney don't put all the resorts together, why does WDW sometimes have them all sharing besides slow times? I mean isn't that like false advertising where a guest might think it won't take them long getting back to the Boardwalk and then they find out they need to stop at 4 other resorts.

I can't say. But I do know that I have taken the BW bus from MK and then gotten off at BC and just walked back to BW...faster that way. But, again, it doesn't happen often, but it has happened.
