I just saw on another website that BWV has studios with Queen bed, Queen sleeper sofa, 5 ft daybed - accommodate 4 adults and one child who will fit on the daybed (that would be my 6 year old!). How do you get these studios and do they cost the same number of points as the regular studios?

The studios with the small daybed are called studio plus units or dedicated studios (no connecting inside door to a 1 bedroom unit). They cost the same points as any other studio. However, they are available by request only - there is no guarantee that you will get one.

Neither CRO nor MS will take a reservation for more than 4 people for a studio unless the 5th is an infant (under age 3). A portable crib is provided for the child to sleep in.

The BWV studios have 1 queen bed and a double sized sleep sofa.

The daybed is more like a bench - it is only about 4 feet long and 18 inches wide. It is not anything like the daybeds in the deluxe resorts - those are more like a twin bed. THe BWV studio plus daybed is quite hard (IMHO) - your 6 year old may not think too much of it as a bed anyway. We sat on it to put on our shoes and used it to store souvenirs.

Your party will need at least a 1 bedroom if you stay in a DVC resort - and you will have to bring your own bedding for the 5th person. A 2 bedroom would be recommended.

Best wishes -

That daybed, is barely big enough to sit on...I wouldn't want to have to sleep on it. We used it to sit on and put our shoes on or for our packages at the end of the day. I can't imagine anyone could actually sleep on it. And the sleep sofa is a double size I believe. We use the studios for the 3 of us but I wouldn't be comfy in it if there were more than that.

When did Member Services start denying booking 5 in the studio plus rooms at BWV? They let me do it last year when I had my 5-year-old nephew with me. They just told me I might not get it at check-in and to bring some bedding just in case. We have friends (family of 5) that specifically bought at BWV because of the studio plus. If this is true, they are going to be very upset.

It's been a few years since they started saying the Studio Plus was just a request and not a guarantee. And they have also said they would not book 5 in a studio; in a one bedroom, yes, but not a studio. And you still have to bring your own extra bedding for the extra person in the one bedroom.

But all of this could change if they decide to go strictly by the books.

Now I am confused again. Does Member Services allow reservations for 5 in a Studio Plus or not - does it depend who you talk to???? Can a non member call Member Services with these questions or does a DVC owner have to make the call. I'm still not sure if I want to put all 5 of us in a Studio Plus, but we could stay a whole week instead of only 5 days! We really do not plan on spending much time in the room.

Yep, that daybed is more of a small loveseat. It doesn't fold out anymore I don't think. You just sort of sleep on the couch. I would think a child would prefer the floor.

We had one of these room back in 2000 and it was more like a deacons bench with a thin foam mattress about the size (or smaller) of a crib mattress. The entire bench fit in the space where the door would be if there was a door connecting the studio to the one bedroom. So figure that the length of the bench is about the width of a door. It didn't fold out at all. Nothing like the daybeds in the other resorts which are twin bed sized (or at least close to the twin bed).

Only a member can make reservations, modifications to reservation or cancellations to a DVC points reservation. Not a member? You have no control over this reservation. Only the member does.

And, yes, there is no guarantee that you will get a studio plus and MS is not putting five in a studio (unless one is under the age of three).

Our family of five (we are members), just stayed in a studio plus this past April. We booked it with MS with no problem and got all five KTTW cards at check in. We brought an aero bed for one son, the other son slept in the second queen and my twelve year old slept on the deacons bench. He loved it! He had no problem whatsoever. We are the type of family that go from early morning to late at night at Disney, so the size of the room meant nothing to us. So if you get full permission from MS to do so, I say go for it. And enjoy Disney! :)

This past April we had a daybed. My 9 year old slept fine on it. I don't think he will fit comfortably lengthwise in the future - but then his younger sister can! It could be the dutch blood that make us taller/bigger too.
