BWV studio vs. BWI standard room

I priced out a standard room at BWI and a studio at BWV and the studio comes out $118 cheaper for the week we want to go. It is just DH and I, so we only need the one bed anyway. It sounds like BWV studio is the better deal for us. Am I missing something? Is there some advantage to the standard room at BWI?

Thanks for your help!

The main differences:

Inn room:
1 king or 2 queens plus a sleeper sofa
renovated within the last year
usually (but not always) a shorter walk
closer to epcot walkway
close to quiet pool but a bit of a walk to theme pool
could easily get a parking lot view if you book "standard"
more likely to get a view upgrade

Villas room:
1 queen bed plus a sleeper sofa (no chance of a king in a studio)
mini kitchenette
currently undergoing renovation so may hear/smell construction and rooms look older
usually (not always) long walks in the hallways
closer to the main pool
closer to studios walkway
if you are paying cash, a good chance of getting pool or garden view
no chance of getting boardwalk view if paying cash

hope that helps! i prefer the inn rooms unless you are doing a 1bdrm but both sides are nice.

For less money, this is a real no brainer to me. I think having the kitchenette is a real plus. You will have a microwave, toaster, paper plates and utensils in the studio.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your vacation.

Thank you both for your opinions.

Does anyone know when the rennovations at BWV are going to be finished? We are thinking of going this November.

Is one noisier than the other with kids? I was thinking BWV might be noisier with more families staying in the villas?

Nothing at all against kids, but we are looking for something on the quietier side.

The Inn is supposed to be quieter. The Villas is closer to the main pool, which can be QUITE noisy.

I would stay in the Inn, personally. Newly renovated rooms, more of an upscale experience overall. The amenities are nicer in the Inn vs. the Villas. Who needs a toaster? :confused3 If it's just you and your husband, definitely the Inn...

The renovations to the Villas won't be complete by November, I don't think. They just barely started.

I would check to see if you would get mousekeeping with both reservations.

You get mousekeeping at the villas if you pay cash. You do not get mousekeeping when using DVC points.

DH and I have only stayed at the BWI (around 15 times!) and prefer it because it is quiet and seems to have less families than the Villa side. We prefer the quiet pool on the Inn side, and most of the time it is just that, quiet with adults that just want to relax. The corridors on the Villa side are quite long and the rooms that we have seen seem more basic than the beautifully renovated rooms at the Inn. You have the option on the Inn side to walk to your rooms through the inside corridors, or go out through the courtyard and enter the building closer to your room. The courtyard and quiet pool areas are very tranquil, you don't know that the Boardwalk hustle and bustle is going on close by. You will love the BWI for a trip for 2!
