I was reading on Allears and came across a description of a studio + daybed, which I had heard of on these boards before. When you make a ressie, is this guaranteed, or is it luck of the draw?

you can ask - it is called a Plus - but someone else says that the front desk gets to assign those. generally to either a family of more than 4. (5 can stay in these things). or to families who members are bigger than normal.

We stayed in one of these units and its like a bench with a cushion.
It is not what I have in mind when I think of daybeds.
It's not big enough for someone over the age of 8 to sleep on and thats even pushing it, in my opinion. We used an air mattress we packed thankfully.

No, getting the "Studio Plus" is not guaranteed, but what is guaranteed is that you can officially book 5 in a studio with the request. We have three small children, and would like to use a studio as long as we can. Being able to book 5 in a BWV studio is a plus for us. If we don't get it we can manage, but at least we're all officially on the ressie.

Thanks everyone. Right now we have 2 dds (4 and 4 months) and it would be nice to have the option to have a daybed with 5 if we had another child since the 1BR doesn't add any more people to the ressie and then it requires a 2BR. At least while they were young I was thinking it could work, b/c when we stayed at the Poly last year, dd3 preferred to sleep on the daybed there to the other regular bed.

The daybed at the Poly is nice. My daughter was fine on the one at AKL. The one at the BW is not nice. Too short, too narrow, and not cushioned enough. Some kids might be fine there....(hey, my kids like to "camp" in their closets, so I'm not going to guess which kid will take a fancy to that daybed).

All Studio Pluses are dedicated studios. The so-called day bed fits in the space where the door would connect to the one bedroom. The bench is about the width of the door. Some dedicated studios are not Studio Plus.

They are not guaranteed and are only a request.

If you need to have five in a room, get the one bedroom. At this time, MS will allow five in a one bedroom, but will not provide any additional bedding. I certainly wouldn't call this "day bed" additional bedding. My son who was 5 refused to sleep on it.

We had one while at the BWV in May. There was just the 2 of us (adults), so no logic in why we got it and not a larger family. My daughter, group of 4, did not have one in their room. We did have the dedicated room and she did not. I think it's luck of the draw. It was not barely enough for someone to sleep on and if they rolled over they would've fallen off.
