Hi, I have only stayed Standard View at the BWV once, and it was a few years ago. Our room was on the first floor and faced the front of the resort, the view was mostly of foliage.I have a res. to stay again with the standard view and would like some opinions or photos of the view from various rooms. Do the upper floors have balconies with stadard view?? And is the view "nice"? Thanks for any suggestions! Joan

When I book standard view, I request top floor, across from the bus stop. This gets you about half way down the hall and a good view of Illuminations fireworks.

All rooms have balconies.

We also request upper floor across from bus stop. Not only is the "LONG" walk from the elevators highly overblown, this location puts you closer to the quiet pool, Community Hall, and the walkway to MGM. Plus being close to a door which leads to the bus stop actually saves some walking.

If you've reserved a 1-BR unit, you may get really lucky and get one of the X123 rooms which are extra-large, dedicated 1-bedroom units because they are the corner rooms at the end of the building but still facing the bus stop.

If you get an x121 or x101 room, request a change because these rooms have trees blocking the view.

yes they have balconies. We get standard all the time for OCT (4 studios).
The view is what you make it. We like the standard view and the looooooooong walks (I have to laugh at this :rotfl2: ) because all the DVC's have a fairly long walk to the rooms unless you can park in front like at OKW/SSR.. I like to say that if the walk is to long for some people then don't stay there.

Thanks for the replies! I do not mind "the LONG walk" ;) we usually stay at the BCV on an upper floor. I do not like to be on the first floor  (but will deal with it if I have to).I only have a studio booked and I did not even realize that you could see Illuminations from the front of the BW! So I will request an upper floor and keep my fingers crossed! Joan

We requested top floor and ended up on the first floor.

Did turn out for the best though, as my kids were in the "developing gills" stage of pool use. It was nice to be a few steps from the door to the pool.

We could still see a few high fireworks from Illuminations - as well as we could see them from our BW View room.

I have a couple photos, but I'm having difficulty getting them onto the DIS community photos. If you want, I can email them to you if you want - just PM me.

We always get the standard view. Although it is nothing spectacular, I like the location of the rooms and the points savings. Yeah, you can see the parking lot and entrance, but there are nice trees and grassy areas, etc. It's not like your window is above the pavement.
