BWV Standard vs Garden/Pool View

Is it worth the extra points to go with a garden/pool view? Personally we bought in hoping for standard veiws, but only garden/pool is available right now.

We do not own at BWV but have stayed there many times. Personally I find it very hard to get Standard views, and have never been able to get one (of course I am booking at the 7 mo and you at the 11 mo) but there are much less standards.

I personally enjoy the garden/water views I have had. Very quiet and relaxing. personally I like it better than a pool view.

My favorite not standard view is over the Village Green. We own at BWV and only two times have I had to book preferred view, and those times I was booking only at 3-4 months away. I've had the Boardwalk view, but I would rather save my points.

Boardwalk view is by far best view and worth it. But pool/garden becomes one for personal decison. Most are somewhat better than standard but whether one wants to spend the extra points depends on the invidual, many do, many don't. In your case, it seems to be a different issue. You apparently are trying to make a ressies less than 11 months out, standard (and probably boardwalk) is gone, and thus your only choice is pool/garden. To me that is the choice between going and not going and I don't consider that a realistic choice, not going loses every time.

No. There are preferred pool/garden views with worse views than Standard View.

But if that is what is open right now, its a lovely resort, close to Epcot, and the preferred pool/garden is the same number of points you'd spend to look at the dumpster at VWL or the road at BCVs.

Regarding Village Green - those are studios for pool/garden view, no 1 bedroom or larger.

If the choices were standard and pool/garden, I would take standard and save the points. That's what I always did before boardwalk view was guaranteed. The standard views aren't bad, especially down near the pond.

Now that boardwalk view is guaranteed, I'm hooked and always book it.

Thanks for the responses. I think that we wouldn't care so much about the difference between the view of garden/pool verses the standard, especially for that point difference!

We are at 11mo + a few days. We just closed our resale contract about a week ago and got our points on Friday. So the 25th, 27th, 28th, and 29th are all booked up for the standard view. I have that waitlisted so I'm hoping to get them in standard I would also like to be in 1 room for the entire trip so that we don't have to move everything and 2 small children.

Boardwalk view is of course, taken already or I would go for that too! We will be in a studio so maybe I'll put the Village Green request in on the days that we're in a preferred view room if we end up keeping it.

My trip is planned for the first week of June and I just made my reservations two weeks ago, so the waitlist worked for me. I am so glad because the first four nights were in a standard and the last three were in a garden view and I hate switching rooms.

Same here, in Nov we booked AKL (The only resort available at such a late date) for our trip in early March and waitlisted for a BWV standard view. Our waitlist came through last week also. So miracles do happen. No way in heck did I think a BWV standard view would become available for the first weekend of the Flower and Garden Festival.

I also just had a waitlist for Standard View come thru this week for Memorial Day weekend in a 1 bedroom. It only took 2 weeks for the waitlist to come thru. I called yesterday to add a couple nights onto that reservation in a standard view, and it was available - I didn't even have to waitlist!

We just booked the 7th through the 16th in a standard view 1bdrm, with no problem. I was shocked, it allowed us to add 2 nights to our trip (was booked LV BLT) and saved points to boot. Not a bad deal at all..

Our waitlist for a standard 2 bedroom for 3 nights came through last week. Now I am waiting for 2 more nights, but I have no more BW points, so I have to wait for my 7 month mark. We currently have those nights at WL, but I want BW standard to save some points. I am point deprived at this point!!!

We have a couple nights in a standard, then 5 in garden, then back to standard. REALLY hoping for the waitlist to come through. We also like to stay cheap and go for longer. That's why we always did the All-Star. We figured 2 weeks/ year at the value resort or a few days at a deluxe.

You guys are giving me hope though that my waitlist will go through, thanks!

We just got back from 8 nights in a standard view. IMO, the view was fine. We are not big "balcony" people, and paying more for the room across the hall is something I wouldn't do. I'd go to BCV over a BWV Garden/pool view at the same rate. Then again, we have young kids, and IMO the BCV is better suited for youngsters. Of course, that is a whole different debate.
