Was surprised this morning to find BWV-Standard View Studio was available for our quick 2 night stop in March (18-20) before we head to Vero. From what I've read, these rooms are hard to get at 7 months out. We're planning an Epcot day, possibly a split visit with Hollywood Studios, so the location is perfect. This will be our 1st stay here. Any advise for room requests? It will be my wife and 2 teenage kids. Seems we always get rooms as far from the elevators as possible, so we're used to the walk. :) I'm assuming our friend we're renting points from will have to make the room requests? Thanks!

Yes, the DVC owner will have to make your request but can do it via email/chat/phone. As far as location goes, we like the "near tennis courts" wing for a standard view because you just walk down that hall to the far end and down the stairs to find you're halfway to DHS already. Of course, that means you're farther from the elevators and Epcot, so.... We also like the actual view, which is into a wooded park-like area. At the other end of that hallway, where it bends, there's another stairway down to a walkway that goes to the bus stop and the parking lot. The remaining standard view villas look onto the front entrance to the resort, which can be noisy, but not as much as it was when the RAC desk was there accepting luggage early in the morning.

A standard room is standard for a reason. No really good views. Lower floors look at trees or shrubs, higher floors look at driveway to watch buses, cars & taxis arrive, or you look at the cars in the parking lot. we personally like far from elevators. We take the stairs most times, but sucks when you’re on the 4th floor or 5th floor. We tried to get the second floor just to make the stair climb not too awful for us old folks. We seldom use the balcony anymore.
