This will be our first time staying at BWV and wanted to see what would be a good request for a standard studio. We are not very fussy but prefer a quiet area if possible or a quicker walk to DHS or Epcot.

Choose higher floor, probably near the end of the hallway. You'll have a view of the parking lot. Closer to the lobby puts you near the luggage loading area for DME and noise.

If you request “close to tennis courts” you can be on the very last hallway, facing DHS and about halfway there if you take the stairs at the end of the hall down to the walkway. We’re there now and it’s very quiet. Looking out our windows we see a tree and the Tower of Terror; we can see the parking lot too but because of the tree it’s not very obvious. We also have a great view from our balcony of the gondola turn that’s in the Boardwalk parking lot!

Be aware that you’ll also be as far from the elevators as possible, too, and that walk is very long after a full day in the parks!

Let me rephrase - are things done with the Gondolas enough that it's not obtrusive in that area? Maybe it never was but I've wondered.

I don't think so. We were at the BWV this past December, (in a 1 bedroom near the walkway to the bus stop) and I don't think it will be an issue at all - especially once the construction equipment is cleared out of the BWV parking lot.

We just checked out of 4135 this morning. Admittedly that’s as far from the gondola as we could be on that hallway, but even though they were working at night (it was all lit up and we could see workers walking around) we never heard anything.

Old thread 😂. So what you mean very long walk to elevators? 5 min? 10min?

It can take from 10 minutes to eternity, depending on how much your feet hurt….:rolleyes1

So my understanding is that if you don't have mobility issues and don't mind taking the stairs, requesting a higher floor room close to tennis court will be that bang for your buck? That way you can face the canal and tower of tower , plus a quieter room? how far it would be from boardwalk restaurants or belle Vue lounge for breakfast?

You don't really face the canal in a Standard View room, and you will probably not have a great view to Tower of Terror. The areas marked in red are the Standard View villas.

I think I saw a picture of someone that stayed in at standard view and was able to see a bit of the canal and TOT. Not facing necessarily, but having a view

If you are on the very end of the building, in the morning you can leave by the door that goes to the bus stop, and walk outside up to the entrance to Boardwalk. When you enter through the Portico, Belle View Lounge is close by on the right. Or you can pass by the Portico and walk down the outside stairs over to the Bakery for breakfast.

This is really the best option. If you look in picture, we stayed in a room next to the corner/tower shape on the first floor (requested b/c of stroller). It was quiet, steps out the door to the bus path. We walked outside to front door of lobby or stairs down to boardwalk. The only times we walked down the long hall was to go to feature pool. And it's really not that long if you consider that other DVC properties you have to walk to another building to go to the lobby.

From end rooms in the building in that tennis court area provides the longest possible walk from a BWV room to elevator (and then lobby). Actual time is about 100 to 120 seconds (longer with little children also walking). There have been many posts in the past about that "very long" BWV walk, probably posted by members who have never stayed at Kidani in an end room on the north wing, where the walk to the lobby area, about 1/3 mile, can take 5 to 6 minutes normal adult pace.

That is not bad at all. 2-3 minutes walk is nothing.

Another question: I would prefer the studio rooms (standard views) close to tennis court, but according to the map, all of them are lockoff. Dedicated studios are mainly closer to the lobby. Some people say that kickoffs tend to be way more noisy, not sure what your experience is. Thank you!

Depends entirely on your neighbors, and you have no control over that.

We've found that almost all of the noise at the BWV comes from the hallways -- excited /tired children running, & talking, & their parents yelling at them to slow down & be quiet, LOL. The closer your villa is to the elevators, the more likely you are to be bothered by hallway noise.

We usually ask for a dedicated 1 bedroom across from the bus stop.

LOL, @DaviVascaino I complete forgot we could see ToT from that room! I was so enthralled by the gondolas that I didn’t spend much time looking at the Tower. But it was a very quiet room, since it was at the very end of the hall and therefore very few people passed in the hallway.

Yes, I thought BWV hallways were long until we stayed at Kidani, in a studio beyond the Pumbaa elevators! However, a number of my BWV stays years ago were complicated by severe blisters, which made those hallways seem much longer than they do now that I no longer have a blister problem! :cutie:
