I Have Never Stayed In A Standard View Room Before And Was Wondering What Do You Get To See? I Have To Make A Reservation In A Few Days And I Didn't Know What To Request. I Don't Know If There Are Any But I Want To Avoid Any Dumpster Like Views Like They Have At Vwl. Thanks For Your Help.

There aren't any "dumpster views" at BWV like at the VWL.

If you reserve a standard view, you will be overlooking the front entrance and the driveway leading up to it. There is quite a bit of landscaping/flowers between the villas and the black topped areas. You will be able to see the parking lot in the distance and if you are lucky, you may be able to see the higher level fireworks from IllumiNations. IMHO, the views form the SV rooms are nice - and the fireworks are a big bonus (if you are lucky in your room assignment).

If you don't mind using the stairs, ask for an upper floor across from the bus stop. This is a very convenient location and has a good chance of getting you a fireworks view.

If you are travleing with strollers, wheelchairs or ECVs, it might be better to request "close to the elevators".

Most people list their smoking/no-smoking preference first, though.

Best wishes-

We've stayed standard our last 2 trips and have had a nice view of the lawn and entrance. As Carol mentioned, there's quite a bit of grass between the rooms & the driveway so you don't feel like you're right beside it. My parents were in the 2nd room off the elevator and enjoyed watching everyone arrive. My preference is to be further down the hall. Our first trip we were pretty far down the hall, but had a great view of the upper Illuminations fireworks. Last year we were in 3085 a dedicated studio right next to the vending. It was right at the end of the first hallway and across from the stairs to the pool. When making my requests, I just ask for halfway down the hall from the elevators.

With BWV Std view, I'd stick to your smoking preference and leave it at that. Any more requests than that will jinx you (in my experience). When we have left it a just our smoking preference, we have always had a great room, often with fireworks views.

Good luck!

Now that the croquet lawn area is finished, does anyone think these rooms will be returned to Preferred View? If they are, then I'm thinking the tennis court views will return to Standard View?

We are staying in a standard view for the first time next year. I'd really love the croquet lawn view, but I'm thinking it will definetly be preferred points now.

Wouldn't hurt to request it, but I believe these will only be used for SV if there is some issue with the "real" SV rooms. IIRC, Coloradobelle posted that she was fgiven a room in this area when she objected to the SV she was assigned. Think it was a HA studio and she wanted a tub, but not sure I remember the detials correctly.

Anyway, I don't think it would hurt to request it - of course the room assigner could ignore the request and then you'd have nothing documented except S or N/S for him/her to go on. You could hedge your bet by putting "real" SV requests on the ressie and then just ask at check in for the croquet lawn view.

IMHO, rooms overlooking the croquet lawn will have the nicest views n the PV-Pool/Garden category. I don't care for pool views - they can turn nosiy on you!

I requested just N/S and top floor. I'd really be thrilled to have one of the villas on the 4th floor, facing the tennis courts; but I will ask about the rooms over the old sales center at check-in.

I think you have a good chance of getting your tennis court view - we ended up there when I asked to be far away from the elevators. Had SV booked. Apparently, not many ask for that. (We like the quiet, LOL).

Best wishes-
