BWV standard view question.

I just got off the phone with MS. My waitlist for a 1 BR came through, we had a studio and were happy with it until last month when we we upgraded to a 1BR, it's all over no more studios for my wife. The one bedrooms are great,but I digress.
My question is can you have an Illuminations view with a standard view? The CM said no. I always thought a standard view facing the parking lot on a high floor would give you that view. Which is correct? That last time was a preferred view, facing the quiet pool and we saw Fantasmic every night from our balcony,it was nice. I still have the high floor requested, but if I can't have the view I may as well be on the ground floor. TIA. Rich

Yes, you can see Illuminations with a standard view room, but only if you are farther away from the elevators. My parents were in one of the first standards from the elevator and could only see the valet drop off. We were on down the hall and could see the fireworks every night!

We were in a standard 2 BR last summer. Our room was on the top floor, about halfway down the hall. We could definitely see the Illuminations fireworks from our balcony!

I just posted this one another thread - we had a standard 1 bedroom with a great Illuminations view last December - 4103. Across from the bus stop, about half way down the hall (right after it splits off between the pools).

The funny thing is I had requested "fireworks view" and when we checked in we found out we had a first floor room. I asked if they had anything on an upper floor and she gave us this room but said it didn't have much of a view. We were pleasantly surprised! This year instead of requesting "fireworks view", I made my request 4th floor, across from the bus stop, hopefully they will assign us a good room since we will be arriving later.
