BWV Standard View Question

Boardwalk is my DVC home. I prefer closer to the elevator in standard views. Never had problems with the view from balcony or too much light from driveway.

Last stay was in 4097.

I don't want to get off topic here but just out of curiosity is the week or two before Labor day (end of Aug./early Sept.) considered more of a busy time for BWV? Our family was thinking of trying to stay there next summer but we have to wait till the 7 mo. mark and were just wondering if that is going to be a bit of a far fetched idea. We are only looking at studios so we are limiting our chances already. Any input is appreciated.

Monday will be our first stay at BWV. We're looking forward to it and didn't request any special room placement. We're two adults and would actually prefer doing the stairs instead of the elevator. In our other DVC resorts stays we've found that they've been pretty responsive to any request that we've had.

We just returned from 10 nights at BWV in a 1 BR standard view. Our request was away from elevators, higher floor, corner room. And we got it! We were in room 3123. It was huge, had a wraparound balcony, and had a set of stairs right across the hall. We were next to Community Hall on one side and the bus stop (2 minute walk) on the other side. We also had a great view of the Epcot fireworks. It was an awesome room and we majorly lucked out getting it!

Don't forget that the further you are from the elevators mean the closer you are to Disney's Hollywood Studios! :thumbsup2

We stayed in 3121 this past September and LOVED it!!!

Here's the great map that Granny always shares.

And yes, only one set of elevators at BWV.

Can someone points out where are the stairways at the standard view room section? :goodvibes

The corner by the pond and bridge at the bottom (the corner, not the end of the hall).
Isn't there one the end of each hall as well? also, I believe there's one near the secondary entrance where they should have an elevator.

There are stairs at the end by Jellyrolls but that would not be standard view. There are also stairs on the boardwalk view side on the corner of the Village Green. I'm sure there are others since their main purpose is fire escape.

We love taking the stairs VS. waiting for elevators. Can we use the stairs to go to / from the parking lot without going thru the lobby? I see there is a path in the picture connecting the Standard side of the villa building and the brigde that go to the parking lot. And is there another bright that is on the botton of the picture which just not showing in that picture?

I've stayed at BWV at least 10 times and my experience is rooms are assigned in advance so I would have your request added to your reservation. Anytime I've booked standard view, I requested top floor across from the bus stop and everytime I've got close to that (3rd or 4th floor).

We have been unsuccessful in every room request but one. If I ask for high floor, we can walk out to the pool. If we want to be near the elevators we've found how nice that door nearest the Studios is.....However, we've yet to have a room we are unhappy with.

The one time we were successful we asked for rooms next to each other with the words "cancer recovery trip" on the reservation.

You don't need to go through the lobby. You take the path from the bus stop to the corner of the building. There is a doorway there that leads to the hallway. The stairs are right across the hallway from the door.

There's only one bridge in that area.
