Cash reservation or DVC points stay? They are different.Has anyone gotten amazing views in a standard studio at Boardwalk Villas? What location should you request? Pictures appreciated!![]()
DVC PointsCash reservation or DVC points stay? They are different.
We just stayed there in November and for the LIFE of me I cannot remember our room number but I think it was 2065 maybe? It was RIGHT off the main lobby and close to the elevators (which is what I requested) and the perfect location for us. Seriously, I commented on it every time we walked to the room, it was such a quick walk wherever we needed to go! We had a larger balcony that we enjoyed and a view of the green area (I don't know the name of it) and even the water/boat dock. It was a "standard" view booked with DVC points. For us, the room was perfect because I could sit on my balcony and watch my girls play in the grassy area. We all LOVED that!
I have attached some pics, but they aren't great because I took a picture of a video.

If I were to stay there again I would request the same room!
That’s a Pool/garden view, you got upgraded. Village Green.
IMHO, the prettiest standard view at BWV is “near tennis courts,” which looks into a park like area and is also the closest to DHS, if you plan to visit it. Out the stairway at the end of the hall, out onto the walkway, and you’re halfway there! OTOH, those rooms are as far from the elevators as you can get, so.... The other standard view rooms look out at the front driveway and entrance to the resort, which is why standard view is cheaper than P/G or Boardwalk view!Has anyone gotten amazing views in a standard studio at Boardwalk Villas (DVC Points)? Having owned at BWV for 20+ years and stayed in all three views, I'd vote with your husband for Boardwalk view! Yes, from some of the standard view rooms you can see high-level fireworks from Epcot, but from BW view you can see them and the ones from MK, and we love to sit on the balcony and watch the Friendship Boats run on Crescent Lake.I so appreciate you all taking the time to answer this. I have never stayed on property before as I grew up in Orlando but now live in PA. We are planning a trip with points from a family friend and after a lot of reading we feel like BWV best suites us for atmosphere and location. My husband would like to splurge and go for preferred boardwalk view but I would rather risk it with standard. My hope would be a chance to see fireworks but I am really happy with anything scenic. We are just happy to have a balcony.
Does your friend own points at BWV? If not, it might not be easy for them to book a standard view studio. They tend to get booked up early on by people who own at BWV long before DVC members who do not own there get the opportunity to book.I so appreciate you all taking the time to answer this. We would like to book our trip for Jan of 2022.Also, how far out are you trying to book? There are no Epcot fireworks right now.
G/P and Boardwalk views are both considered to be "preferred" by the rental agencies but DVC distinguishes between the two on the DVC booking website. Both require the same number of points but there are fewer Boardwalk views and they tend to book up quicker than G/P.I have 4 rooms for the 50th. We paid for Garden/Pool view. I didn't see a boardwalk view option when reserving. Is that a higher price or are the options standard and garden/pool only?

We stayed in December 2020 and we hand standard studio but almost that exact same view. We were higher up though and could see the steps from the lobby area. We had a great view of the Christmas tree.We just stayed there in November and for the LIFE of me I cannot remember our room number but I think it was 2065 maybe?
