BWV - Standard Studio at 7 months for September?

Hi All,

BWV in a standard studio in September for 3 weeks... what is our chances like? Can't call until 4th Feb.

It's possible, but not likely, IMO. Preferred View - Pool/Garden view is almost certainly going to be available for that time, though. The 3 weeks is why I say not likely for standard view or Boardwalk view..

That said, September** is one of the easier months to book standard view at the BWV at 7 months. Don't be afraid to waitlist if that is necessary.

** The last weekend of September is the first weekend of the Food & Wine Festival. SV & Boardwalk view are very unlikely for that time, but again, you never know.

Am I right in thinking I can book my home resort now and then try to change the booking at the 7 month window? The dates are from Tuesday 4th to Tuesday 25th so just missing the Food & Wine Festival.

What is wait list? New to all of this!

Yes, you can book now at home resort and try to change at 7 month window. However, you will face the 7 night rule -- if you call exactly 7 months out from date of arrival and a studio is available you will only be able to change the first 7 nights at that time and thus will have to call again to change other nights such as calling seven days later and then again seven days after that. Since chances of a standard are iffy to begin with you will have to start calling exactly 7 months from date of arrival to have a chance of getting what you want. Moreover, you could face the issue of waitlisting -- example, you call 7 months out and try to book first seven nights but two in middle of first week are not available so you have to waitlist for those (meaning if cancellations occur you may get the nights); you could go on to complete the switch with further calls and it is possible that particular waitlist may never come through, leaving you with having a split resort reservation.

Well I've been seeing posts that people are getting the standard view rooms at BWV at the 7 month mark. So there is a possibility. However, isn't there a new Disney Run event the end of September 2012 called the Tower of Terror 10 mile run. It's possible that runners will book at BWV at the 11 month mark and shut you out.

Like others have said I'd be prepared to book a preferred view room instead. It will probably be a garden/pool view.

I'd say "virtually" guaranteed if you only wanted 1 studio. Getting 3 is going to be harder.

No guarantees, but for Pool/Garden, the odds are definitely in your favor. Call as soon as the 7 month window opens. You might get one or two standard views and one Pool/Garden. You just never know until you call.

Not very good, we couldn't get late September in early December.

I say your chances are very slim. If it was 1 weeks or less, then it's possible, but not for 3 weeks. I tried for another slow time.....Jan. 18 (Wed) to Jan. 22 (Sun). This was only for 5 nights and normally mid to late January (I avoid the MLK holiday weekend and the marathon) are very quiet and compared to September, maybe even more slower than September. I waitlisted for a standard studio (only 1) at exactly the 7 month window at exactly 9:00AM and I've been on the waitlist since. I leave in 2 weeks and it never came through. I did set up the WL to 7 days prior, so I will be calling. Sorry OP, you may be able to do a split stay by getting part stay in standard and part stay in preferred. I leave in 2 weeks and am now doing a split stay with 5 nights at OKW and 5 nights BWV-standard. It's all good because I like both, I'm just not a fan of moving.
