I can't see it on the DIS but just now when I hit quote, I did get the URL and I'm able to bring it up.

When I click your link I'm getting this message:

The GeoCities web site you were trying to view has temporarily exceeded its data transfer limit. Please try again later.

Are you the site owner? Avoid service interruptions in the future by increasing your data transfer limit! Find out how.

I got this message too. You may want to try www.photobucket.com as a place to host the pictures you want to share on the net. That is where I stored the map that I posted on the BWV thread that you modified. I am very happy with them as a service.

Many internet sites which host different things such as photos, etc., will have some bandwidth limitations. This can be especially true for free sites which also have a paid membership area where you can get additional bandwidth.

This may be the case with your photos. Everytime someone loads a page where your post is, and which has the link to the photo, that photo is automatically downloaded to that person's computer. This takes processor time, and the amount of data downloaded (as bytes) is known as bandwidth. You may be allocated x-number of megabytes, or gigabytes of bandwidth. For example if you get 100Mb, and you have a photo that's 2Mb in size, then once it's been downloaded (viewed) by 50 people, it's at the 100Mb limit.

Many of these are on a monthly basis, so your photos may automatically appear again on July 1st. This would work until your bandwidth limit was reached again, and then the photos wouldn't show anymore. This appears to be the case for your photo.

Thanks , thats exactly what it was Caskbill . I exceded my total bandwidth download. I upgraded since it seems I'm just starting out on my new DVC journey :thumbsup2

Thank you. I see it now.

Yes, it's showing now, but Boston5602, are you aware that image is 2.5 Mb in size? And it's a bitmap image.

You should really reduce it, and convert it to another format such as a jpeg image so it's not so large of filesize.

Keep in mind, someone using a dial-up connection at 56K will take a long time to download that image. 56 kilobits/sec = 7KB/second. 1.5Mb = 1,500KB so the download time on dialup is about 214 seconds (almost 4 minutes).

There's really no reason to ever put a bitmap image out there when a jpg image will work just as well. Especially one like the one you have which has a lot of areas which are the same color.

When converted to a .jpg format, your 2.5MB image is reduced to 139KB, roughly 1/17th the filesize of your bitmap image.
