BWV room categories

Can someone help me understand the new categories for Boardwalk rooms? There used to be 3, but now there are 2. Does a "Resort" room include pool views? Is "Boardwalk" room only boardwalk views? Thanks for any help.

There are still 3 categories to book.



Resort view used to be called Standard view.

Garden/Pool still appears on this page, but most point charts and cash resorts have changed over to using Preferred view.

Boardwalk view exists for DVC, but doesn’t for the Boardwalk Inn.



Since Boardwalk view and Preferred view are the same amount of points, the point charts lists them together even though there are separate booking categories.

Exactly - Boardwalk view is separate from Preferred View. Preferred are rooms that look onto garden areas or pools. Resort/Standard rooms look mostly towards the front entrance and some back at the tennis courts. Boardwalk view are just the ones on the Boardwalk itself.

Except as Genie+ said, there are no Preferred View rooms on the DVC side of Boardwalk. It's Boardwalk View, Garden/Pool View, and Resort View.
