BWV Ressie Change Question

We currently have a 2br Boardwalk view booked for Dec 19-24. My brother and sister-in-law were supposed to travel with us but have changed their plans, leaving just the 2 of us - DH and myself - with the ressie. I know from speaking with MS (and from these boards) that we cannot "downsize" to a 1BR without placing ourselves on the waitlist (which we have done). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else we could do to avoid "wasting" points? Otherwise I guess we are going to have alot of room to spread out this trip. Not that extra space is a bad thing. Thanks!!

If you know someone well enough, you could rent out the studio and keep the connecting door locked. The problem is the studio will still be in your name, so you will be responsible for it. I'm not sure if you could get 2 separate set of keys made, each working for only 1 side. Do you have any friends you could invite along?
