BWV Renting Question

We just found out my DH has a business trip at the same time we scheduled our Disney vacation
These points need to be used by the end of Sep. We can't travel during June or July due to Sports conflicts
My question is...should I cancel the vacation and try to rent out the points or should I try to rent out the scheduled vacation? Has anyone rented out a scheduled vacation? I am a little nervous...please help

What week in September? Look at the rent/trade board and see if someone is looking for your particular week. Do you have the option of banking those points? If you don't have the option on banking, I assume the summer months are already booked and you would not be able to get a reservation for someone. So I would try and rent your reservation, remember we can only post reservations 30 days prior. Which I do not like, I still say it should be 60 days out. Hope this helped some.

My understanding is that you can't rent the actual vacation on the Disboards until it's 30 days or less out from the vacation. I don't know when your trip is, so I don't know if that applies to you.

Is there any way you could bank your points? Or, would it be possible (not optimal) to take the vacation without your DH? Have you looked at other DVC properties? Could you take a short trip to HHI or VB? Maybe you could deposit the points for an II exchange?

Our week is scheduled for the last week in August (we actually love that time) I can't bank...because, I borrowed to get the 1bdrm.
I really don't want to go without my DH...I don't know what to do
Maybe I should cancel and try to rent the points out, but it seems really late.

There are other places you can offer it for rent. I'd rent it AND offer the points. If you get an offer for a different time you can always cancel the pending reservation. No way I'd cancel and let the points sit there. Depending on the time you actually have reserved you may want to try to get a better unit week if applicable.
