BWV rehab questions(specifically BW View)

Hey all, I have a BW view 1 bedroom reserved for 8/29-9/6.
I know I read one post about someone being told at check in that they were moved to a preferred room instead of a BWView room(and they ran into someone else that the same thing had happened to, i believe), but usually they would notify one, I expect?
It won't ruin my vacation, but this is the first time we've decided to do BW View instead of standard view so I am hoping for no unpleasant surprises.
How is the rehab going? Any scaffolding? What should I expect?

I don't know about the time frame that you are going (8/29 - 9/6) but I received a call a few months back moving us from our BWV studio Boardwalk View to the BCV because of renovations. We are arriving in mid October.

Ugh!!! We are also arriving in mid October. I've had no word from MS regarding any change in our reservations. I also have a studio, Boardwalk view, booked 11 months out to the day. It for my little brother's 40th birthday. He's special needs and very excited about the view. I will be disappointed if we are moved.

Maybe you should call MS and see if anyone can tell you the status of your room request. And I'd definately make them aware of your "needs" if you haven't already.

Hi! We are here right now. We have a two bedroom (studio + one bedroom) and we are in a refurbished room. We are in the Crest of the Wave section of the boardwalk and have a great view! New carpet, wallpaper and paint in the hallway by our room. Still walking by some of the old carpeting, wallpaper in the halls on the way to our room. I have seen very little scaffolding. Only a small section by the pool. Great stay so far!

I just returned from BVW and had a 2 bdr BWV and had no issues.... they did however have "large" sections of the BWV villas cloded off. we were on the 2nd floor and everything after the "trash" and returnable rooms were being renovated. We Carpet and painting for the most part. FWIW I HATE the new carpeting...... Oh Well they didnt ask for my opinion!

Did you still have the old armoire and TV or have the new ones finally arrived? Also, did you use the new washer and dryer? Does the dryer work any faster than the old ones?

We just checked out this morning. We also had a renovated 2 BR Boardwalk View in Crest of the Wave section. We were on the first floor. We did have the new washer/dryer, carpeting, paint, appliances, etc., but the same armoire and TV's as always.

We'll be there in mid-October, with a Boardwalk View booked, too. We're relatively new owners, and we've never had the BW view before. We're really looking forward to it. I'll certainly be unhappy if they move us at this late date, but I wouldn't have minded if they had switched us to the BCV. (I still wouldn't mind if they did... we love BCV because of Stormalong Bay. But I think they've already done that with those they are going to move.)

I will be disappointed if they switch us to preferred view at the last minute. It wouldn't ruin our trip, but it would definitely make me unhappy if they did it at the last minute, particularly with no apologies or recompense.

That said, I hope there won't be any sort of paint or new carpet smell, or any noise from construction or work being done. My DM is super sensitive to such things, and it will make her miserable if she starts having trouble breathing because of fumes.

Oh gosh! I'm so nervous.

We have a 2-bed bw view booked for the begining of Oct & I will be crushed if I loose it! We have never been able to secure a bw view, especially during F&WF. I am a DVC member & went as far as renting points from another DVC member just to ensure a bw view for my mom's very special trip back! It will be her first time back in 5 years without the need of a wheelchair. This is her dream stay (bw view).

I think I better call the member I rented from to be sure she didn't get "the call".

Oh, I hope they don't move us & especially at check-in!

I called today. Everything is status quo.

Same old TVs.....shucks. I was hoping for new flat screens.

Yep, same old t.v.'s. And I don't know about anyone else, but the dryer still took forever for me!
