BWV Quiet Pool Closed?

I see that the BWV Quiet Pool will be closed for refurbishment. Will there be any alternatives for those staying at BWV during that time? Does MS usually send out a notice for pool refurb before your stay?

I'll be there during this refurb. I'm assuming since the main pool is open, there will be no alternative options. When we stayed at the WLV last year their main pool was closed and we did receive a letter from DVC telling us. We leave for BWV on April 28th.

There's a quiet pool on the Inn side of the resort as well as on the Villa side. The Inn-side quiet pool is available to Villa guests as well as Inn guests, and vice versa.

The Inn-side quiet pool will be freshly rehabed, since it's rehab is scheduled to complete just before the Villa-side's rehab is scheduled to begin.

The Inn side pool is in a stunningly beautiful garden - its like a whole different resort.

Resorts usually don't inform of make alternate arrangement for community pool closures.

Boardwalk Villas Community Pool - 5/19 - 5/25/08

This would be great news for us since the original dates had the Villa pool closed for my entire 12 day trip.

Oh, boy this is great news.....we park ourselves at the Community pool in the early am and lounge, read and eat til the pm....we were sooooo disappointed it was going to be closed during our stay.

Anyone know if this is correct? It is still listed as the earlier dates on Deb's site "The Boardwalk Villas quiet/leisure pool will be closed from April 21 - May 9, 2008." I really hope that it goes back to the earlier dates, Memorial Day weekend is a busy time for a pool refurbishment.

This does seem to be a recent update because the Dis home page had the earlier dates listed last week. Sorry, but I'm hoping these new dates are correct.

It still doesn't make sense, though, the BWI Quiet Pool is going to be closed for a month while the BWV Quiet Pool will be closed for 6 days instead of the prior scheduled almost 3 weeks AND they're doing these days over a holiday weekend?

Well it looks like you got your wish because the mugs and glasses are BACK!! Just got my email from DVC! Now lets hope this pool closure date is correct.

CaliforniaDreaming....just to give you a little hope for your trip, when they closed the main pool for refurbishment , it opened ahead of schedule. And to LSchrow, I'm with you.... would not have let it ruin my trip but if we get one of those standard view rooms at the MGM end of the hallway and had to trek over to Inn pool ....that is a hike !!! Plus we like to run up to the room for cold water, maybe even make lunch sandwiches this time since the counter service at BWV is one of their weak points.

According to MousePlanet, Disney applied for a permit to install a new Quiet Pool trellis that will match the existing architectural details (for the BWI Quiet Pool).

Maybe that's why the Inn quiet pool will take longer? Doing more than just a routine rehab?

Since WDWinfo, and several other Unofficial Disney sites had different dates listed, I wrote to MS to find out exactly which one is correct. Here is their very timely response back to me (they answered me the same day I emailed them--today).

Dear N2MM

Thank you for contacting Member Services.

The dates for the Quiet Pool on the Villas side is Monday, May 19 -
Sunday, May 25, 2008. It will reopen Monday, May 26, 2008.

The Quiet Pool on the Inn side is closed in April.

We have green mickey head Co.D luggage tags too!! (actually we have lots of colors). We are just the 2 of us from 4/27, but on 5/3 some of the family will be joining us. So we'll be at the pool with our grand daughters (2 and 10months) for the second half of our trip! I'm glad the villa pool is now open, it's usually pretty quiet for the most part and I find the luna pool just crazy busy all of the time.
