I'm still in semi-shock here that I was able to get a studio for 2 nights (7/31 & 8/1) at 55 days out, but I just did
Standard views were gone though......even 1 bedroom at BW was available.
So my question is, am I correct in thinking preferred view is either boardwalk or pool ? Anything else fall into this category and should I request any section in particular ? This is our first stay here and we're looking forward to it. Our "home" resort is OKW, and though we love it there, we just wanted to see what the other resorts were like up close. I actually originally asked for BCV so we'd have access to SAB for the kids, but they had no studios available for 7/31---only 8/1.
I don't know if I should request a specific room # or rather just stick with asking for a specific location ? What do u all think ? Thanks

Preferred views include the Boardwalk/Crescent Lake, Luna Park (pool with clown slide), the quiet pool/Community Hall area and the Swan/Dolphin/canal.

It's best to make your requests general. Requesting a specific room isn't a very good idea - if it's occupied when you check in, the room assignor will not have a good idea of what you really want. Most all the BWV rooms are preassigned.

Some guests request an upper or lower floor, or to be close (or not close) to the elevators. Most make smoking/non-smoking their first request.

FYI - list your requests in the order of importance. The assigners will assume that the order reflects your priorities.

Enjoy your trip - You'll have a great time no matter which room you you get. IMHO, all the rooms at BWV have their pluses and minuses and the (+)'s always outweigh the (-)'s.

Thanks Carol.....I appreciate the input. I was not aware of the Swan/Dolphin canal view----is this one ok ?

I think it is pretty much anything that doesn't face the parking lot.

I had a Boardwalk view request last month and was sitting right on top of the Big River Grill (3rd floor). Loved it.

I guess it depends upon what you want - the Swan/Dolphin - lagoon view is the closest to the MGM and if for some reason they are having a party (they did when we were there) it can be very noisey.

ask when you check-in if mgm is having any private parties after hours when you are there - I think the cm's at the front desk should know - of course I could be competely wrong and only the cm's at the park know when these parties are scheduled.

The quiet pool rooms would be closer to MGM. We had one 3 years ago and I could see the Tower of Terror while lying in bed! I think the Swan/Dolphin view would be on the other side of the main pool, above the DVC offices & the back of Jellyrolls, those are the ones closest to the S/D. There has been some debate if these are now standard view.

I thought that the standard views looked out at the parking and service areas. Thats about 20% of the rooms.:smooth:

Thanks to everyone for your tips and suggestions.....Debbie, your view sounded awesome.
