BWV Pref. vs. Stand. vue??? Balcony???

Ok, if the standard view gives you a view of the entrance or canal, the preferred view gives a view of the epcot fireworks and what?????

Also, do all of the rooms have a balcony????

We are bringing our grown kids, grandson, nephew etc. with us (8 of us) and it's our first trip since buying so what should we do for our first time???? Preferred or Standard??? I'm soooo excited to get down there because it's going to be a little more than a year (April 2007) before we can get down there. I just started a new job and can't get the time off for at least a year BUT when I do get there... it's party....party... party!!!!

Well, I've seen Epcot's fireworks from our Standard view balconies. There are preferred views that look at the pool, and some that face the Village Green, the part of the front, Boardwalk side of the lobby.

Since you are waiting so long for this, and seem to want to make the stay extra special, I would go for the Boardwalk View - don't just go for "preferred" go for "Boardwalk" it's the same amount of points as the preferred.

I have never had this view, we've usually been in the BWV with a large party/multiple rooms that included weekend nights, and so we've gone standard (and have been very very pleased), but soon, I hope to try the Boardwalk view, I have one "penciled in" for March '07!

I'm pretty sure that all of the rooms have a balcony or patio.

The 3 room categories are:
Boardwalk - a view of the BW
Preferred - a view with water/pool
(Both of the first 2 require the same number of points)
Standard - a view of the entrance driveway or parking area
(less points)

We've only stayed standard and although you are looking at the driveway or parking, the hotel curves away from the drive and it is removed somewhat from the road. We've been able to see a few of the upper Illuminations fireworks from our rooms and I believe you can as well from the BW rooms. I'm not sure if any of the preferred rooms can see the fireworks. I honestly wouldn't base my choice on the fireworks view because some within the same category are good and some aren't, it's just a toss up.

We just got back from our 1st trip home and stayed in a boardwalk view room. We were on the 4th floor right next to JellyRolls. We had a great view of illuminations. It was also nice to sit outside at night and in the morning and see all the activity going on at the boardwalk.

I also stayed at the BCV and had a wonderful view of the Road and parking lot but that room also had a good view of illuminations and of Wishes at the MK.

But if this is your 1st trip get the boardwalk view- it was so worth it, especially if you or others will be spending a lot of time at the resort. Next trip to save points we will have a standard view room.

Was noise an issue next to Jellyrolls? Are there any rooms immediately above Jellyrolls? We have a Boardwalk view for our first visit this August and wonder if noise is an issue on the Boardwalk side. Thanks.

It can be - it depends really on what you are used to and where you end up. We were right above the Screen Door and found the noise (the boat bell, the games) noticeable, but not terribly disturbing. However, we live in a quiet suburb, had two small children trying to sleep at 8:30 at night, and were on a low floor. Had I come from the city where I used to live, with adults only and the late bedtime, I don't think it would have even been noticable. Some people don't notice it, some people do. If you are prone to being a light sleeper and easily disturbed, you might find it more noticable than if you are the type who can sleep through construction.

We Just stayed at BWV in late January-early February and stayed in both. We added on a day to our original stay and were put in a Preferred room for one night then we moved to a standard view for the last 4 nights. They were both 1 bedroom villas with the preferred view having 1 balcony on the bedroom and 1 balcony on the living area. We had a view of the big pool which was okay. The Standard view had one long balcony with doors opening on the bedroom and living area. We had a view of the front of the resort and we could see the fireworks at EPCOT from our balcony. Actually both were fine and we would definitely choose a standard view in the future to save points.
