Decided this week to book a spontaneous trip for Jul 1- 4th. Currently booked at both BWV and BRV in studios and trying to decide which would be best. A couple questions for anyone who has stayed at either recently...

1) At Boardwalk- where did you eat breakfast? I could be missing something but it seems like they are lacking a quick service breakfast option right now
2) At Boardwalk- Are there any path closures to prevent walking fully around the lake to Beach Club/Yacht/S&D? Love to run/walk and was hoping to do loops
3) At BRV- Due to all the path closures, would you consider this a more secluded resort, and difficult for walking/running around?
4) In your opinion, where would you stay for a more "relaxed" (aka minimal parks) trip? Though I'd lean BRV, i am bummed about the no campfire right now, plus trail closures/lack of places to go, but also really like the food options there.

Thanks!

Hmm...I think if you want to run around, then you might have more space at BW because you could always use the path to HS. You would also just have the sights and sounds of the Boardwalk and the proximity to the 2 parks. I love Wilderness Lodge but I do believe the path is closed because of all that stuff they had started for Reflections and then stopped.

There's a chance that the trail connecting FtW and WL may be re-opened. It sounded like the utilities work was covered over in smooth dirt in late 2020.

For me, I would pick BRV. The Crescent Lake area always seem to have more activity/energy, while the Lodge is a quieter respite from the more chaotic theme parks, etc. One of my favorite places anywhere in WDW is a chair down by WL's Bay Lake frontage looking out across the water.

1. The Boardwalk Bakery has mobile ordering available. We ate breakfast in the villa most mornings but we did do a few lunches from there during our stay in October. Not much of a selection but it’s something. You can also walk or boat over to the Beach Club Marketplace for breakfast or head over to the Swan/Dolphin for quick service breakfast there.

2. The are no pathway closures at Crescent Lake at present. You can stroll or jog the whole way around it if you wish.

3. BRV is not what I consider to be secluded but when compared to BWV, it is.

4. Personally, I would choose the Boardwalk only because of the easy dining options in the area plus access to the Skyliner to get to RIV, CBR and POP if I felt like exploring.

I would choose boardwalk just because the fireworks at Epcot are amazing on the 4th of July and if they decide to do them this year you would be able to see them from BW without having to go into the park.
